Full Moon appreciation thread

First, let me share my previous rant from the Subspecies thread.

Damnit. Damnit, damnit, damnit!

What the hell is going on with Full Moon/Shadow. Either close shop and call it a day or get on with the show. Enough of these games already. Their glory days are long, long gone. Shit, I used to remember going to the video store to find ANYTHING new from Full Moon. Sometimes I would get stuff for the Video Zone along (long before my LD days, but I was still loving the supplements).

Every time I'm over browsing the Tempe forums, I always get depressed about hearing the latest Full Moon/Shadow troubles. I see that Full Man Fan Club seems to be gone and that their message boards have been shut down. WTF?

JR: What is up with Charles Band? What is the guy doing RIGHT NOW?

Argh.

This is why people should own a laserdisc player. Thank god Paramount released nearly all of Full Moon's older catalog onto LD, all of which contain the Video Zones as well. I'm going to continue to acquire these titles on lasers as there is absolutely no chance in hell we'll see them on DVD. Even if they do, they won't be remasters, so chances are the lasers will look better anyway.

It's time to write this company off. I had always hoped there would be a Subspecies 5 that would somehow makeup for the vile Subspecies 4. Alas, it shall never be.

I loved Full Moon back in the day. But now that they're gone, share your experiences with Full Moon and their movies.

What was your first Full Moon movie? What is your favorite Full Moon movie? What is the WORST Full Moon movie?

There are still so many Full Moon movies - even much of their older stuff - that I haven't seen, so I'm interested in feedback.

The obvious good ones are Puppet Master (earlier ones) and Suspecies. But what else really stands out? I never really got into Trancers. I picked up some of the Demonic Toys movies at an LD blowout sale, so I'll be watching those soon.

I used to love renting Full Moon release (on VHS no less!) and always looked forward to the Video Zones at the end. Those were great.

One of my very last video rentals (1995) was Full Moon's LURKING FEAR. Loved it. It had Ashley Laurence in it and a few well done Special Effects.
I think X-Rated released this on DVD some time ago, definitely gonna try to track it down.

So they truely are gone now? I couldn't tell as i still see discs from em here and there. Although some of their titles were pretty shitty movies, the dvds they put out always gave a lot of content for a nice low price. They may not have been the best quality wise, but none I can remember were so horrible (I'm talking picture and sound, not movie content) it made me mad. Best prop I can give em, after buying 3 or 4 or maybe 5 of their discs, I NEVER felt ripped off! (not even by Horrorvision, although movie wise that just sucked!)
RIP Full Moon, you will be missed.

"dark angel: the ascent" i liked as a kid, and rented it again when i got old and still liked it,
"burial of the rats" with adrienne barbeau is full moon, i think, and it sucked massively,
the first 2 "subspecies" i thought were extremely boring

I used to love watching Full Moon movies when i was younger. Some fo my favs; Puppet Master series, TRANCERS series, Castle Freak, Pit and the Pedulum. I used to love to watch the video Zone afterwards, i even rented a couple of movies that i really didn't have interest in simply to see the video Zone.

I would give anything to have Puppet Master 3 on dvd. For me that was the best Full Moon film. but after that the series took a nosedive. Reto puppetmaster is only good if you have trouble sleeping.

David I'm with you BRO.! I to was a Hugh Fullmoon fan in-fact I was also in the Fulllmoon fan club. I also loved the video zone sometimes I would go right to the video zone to see what Charles was working on. My favorites are

I thought they all kicked ass up until "Witchhouse" and "Blood Dolls" when they kind of went to hell. Bad Channels cracks me up, Subspecies 1-4 I love, and I go anywhere Tim Thomerson goes, as I am uberfan. Dollman kicks ass, as does Trancers 1-5. I didn't see 6 as hello, no Tim.

It just really sucks that all these movies are so lost due to someone needing to go to business school.
