Ever since renting "INFERNO" on VHS July 4th, 1989 I have made it a tradition to view Dario Argento films every July 4th weekend ever since. In honor of this July 4th, I present:

Great show.
![]() I have been scoring some great posters from the weekly auctions at Movieposterbid.com. I'm a little sick of Heritage's additional premium, high shipping and taxes which can make a $10 win cost nearly $30 total. The condition of some items were lacking as well (such as all the stains on the rear side of my CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS lobby set which wasn't mentioned in the listing). Anyway, for about $115, I scored these from Movieposterbid.com: FEAR NO EVIL, DINOSAURUS, BLOB/DINOSAURUS combo, BLOB/DINOSAURUS/VAMPIRE triple bill and PANIC IN YEAR ZERO. All items in newish condition and the shipping was nice and protected. They have some great items. |

July 10, 1981 - 30 years to the day:
![]() Back then, it wasn't always a good sign a new film opened at indoor theaters with a co-feature. Such was FINAL EXAM which needed PROM NIGHT to support its run when it opened in Reno, NV. PROM NIGHT had been on TV already earlier that Spring. I knew I just had to see it in its R rated format. But first there was FINAL EXAM a movie Ebert and Siskel said was the boring-est horror film they ever saw. I didn't care as I was on a R rated movie going high after seeing HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME and THE HOWLING a few months earlier. Quite the accomplishment for a 10 year old (with adult in tow...or teens that passed for much older moviegoers). FINAL EXAM was, indeed, kinda boring and the theater was empty. I loved it. PROM NIGHT brought in a few more thrill seekers and I basically sat through the whole program alone since my older brother and his friend were more interested in video games in the lobby. So there I sat, alone in the dark with two (now) beloved features and a huge bucket of soggy popcorn for dinner. When the 2nd featured ended - the later crowds finally showed up and the line for FINAL EXAM's 2nd showing was huge. Good times - just wish I had been part of that later, lively crowd. The same day, this film opened: ![]() Just for fun (released later that summer, however):

Got a couple new ones...
![]() ![]() Plus, Friday the 13th Part 2 and 3 rolled. Wago, I love that Final Exam 1-sheet! I've been looking for one of those for what seems like forever with no luck. The only one I can find is wrinkled, has tape stains, and spots of missing paper... |

Love seeing everyone's posters! I made a couple of short videos (on Facebook video) showing off some of my classic slasher movie memorabilia.
The first is for HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME (1981) https://www.facebook.com/video/video...89247&comments And the second is for MY BLOODY VALENTINE (1981): https://www.facebook.com/video/video...89247&comments

I'm jealous of the Night Of The Creeps and Creepshow posters!
I just got a few more on e-bay: Class Of 1984, Chained Heat, and a video-store poster for Creepshow 2. When they arrive, I might add some pics. |

I love my Night of the Creeps poster! It took me forever to find that style. For the longest time all I could find was the version with the hand through the door, and even that one was hard to come by... |

dickieduvet--hopefully they will use the poster art... That's what they used on the re-release dvd a few years ago. Hopefully a blu-ray is coming sometime soon! |
