Limited Edition Tins
hey guys, ive just recently put in a pre-order of the Maniac Limited Edition tin here in Australia. Theyre being imported and a limited run of 5,000 are available and ive heard a fair bit about this film so i figured id spring for my first ever tin. The Halloween 5 tin is also being imported here and ive read that theres only 15,000 of these worldwide so i was thinking of picking that up too.. but its twice the price of a regular movie and i havent got the other halloweens (cept the first one) do you guys think its worth it? from memory halloween 5 was the weakest of the series..
What tins have you guys got and which ones do you think are a good purchase/bad purchase/rare? I recently missed an opportunity to buy an evil dead 2 tin.. ive seen an evil dead book of the dead edition here recently but that seems to be as common as dish water |

I got the Let Sleeping Corpses Lie and the Beyond tins. Those were both solid buys as far as I'm concerned.
I just picked up the Coffin Joe coffin box set. I kind of wish it was really made out of wood instead of cardboard. I've only watched the first movie so far, but I think it was a solid buy. It comes with four coffin Joe comic books, which is pretty cool. I think tins are cool, and if you don't like the movies, you probably have an investment of sorts, at the very least. Even if you have to wait twenty or thirty years |

I have my tins in a special location, as they kind of suck so far as storage but I like them anyway. I want that Maniac tin too. I currently have:
Halloween 4 and 5 The Beyond Evil Dead 2 Wicker Man (it is wood but still) 6 Feet Under season one is stored with these too, as it is a big coffin looking thing that sucks for storage as well, but I still like it. Last edited by onebyone; 06-17-2003 at 03:28 AM. |

whats the halloween 5 one like? i was thinking of giving it a miss as its only one film in the middle of a series and is probably the weakest out of all of them... didnt know there was a halloween 4 tin, im guessing its probably OOP and next to impossible to find, 4 was one of my faves of the series.
Although not really a "tin" so to speak the rambo trilogy comes in a tin slip case.. that is the worst case ive ever seen, the dvds have slipped out the bottom a few times, once was outside when i was getting outta the car.. they fell in mud and dirt and stuff.. was pretty pissed coz i had only just bought it too i guess as far as awkward shapes go... they're aiming at the general dvd consumer who has a handful of dvds.. not the nutbags like us who have hundreds of dvds and fuss over "clean" storage

Maniac and Repo Man are my favorite tins. They both come with soundtracks. So, you haven't seen Maniac...
You're in for a treat! The Spinell documentary is superb.

They aren't that hard to find (Halloween 4 and 5) i bought mine from TotalActionUniverse about 2 months ago, they still had them in stock, fire them off an email and ask them if they are in stock still (there still on their database), and they were the cheapest store i could find with them at the time. |

I always opt for the disc only version from the tins
Its funny but most of the tins end up going on clearance for 14.99 at the local Best Buy. Thats when I snag them and use them for trade bait. They usually garner good two for one trades.

Repo Man is the only one for me... Are we counting the Wicker Man box? if so, that too.
Can't really stand Maniac... |

![]() I hate the Total Recall tin. (1) The tin looks friggin' ugly! (2) The disc rests on a foam pad. I think it's been replaced with a newer case...

but such is life i guess.umm.. Total Recall tin is pretty good, most people hate the shape.. its actually round only just a little bit bigger than the disc itself that slots into a cardboard bottom. I picked it up from DeepDiscountDVD for like $8US or something like that.. At that price its great value. |
