Fiend without a face

Alright - it ain't Criterion. But at this price, this R2 release looks to be one hell of a buy. If you don't have this film, and are into 50's sci-fi - GET IT.

I have the Criterion version. Actually, I bought it without having seen the film. Crazy? I know! But after seeing it, I didn't regret my decision. The film is quite wondeful; it's fun and it's very smart too. The black and white transfer looks really good. Criterion needs to put more of these kinds of titles out.

I still occasionaly see the Criterion release on shelves. I've been reluctant to buy it because of the high price, but it's been years since I've seen this. I remember seeing it a few times on a show that aired on Saturday afternoons in the Detroit area called Sir Graves Ghastly. Great show host to some great horror classics, including this one. I need to stop being so cheap and grab this before I regret letting it slip by.

Definately do. It's a true classic. The disc IS expensive, but you get a commentary and all.

Alright - just saw a clip from the new release - it's GREAT. If you want this film, there is no need to go Criterion now

Just got the Criterion in the mail this week, and watched it tonight. I have to say, I still love the film, and the dvd looks great, but it's a rip-off at the price they are asking, for a package that comes with so little!!

Well, we can always argue price. The Criterion Fiend is just so marvelous! I gotta put it high on my "proud to own" list. I want all these 50's classic treated so wonderfully!
