Anchor Bay's August Double Features
So am I the only one excited about the Anchor Bay double features? I've been meaning to pick up several of these forever now, so it's cool that I waited, Anchor Bay's actually saving me money. I'm getting these:
A Blade In The Dark/Macabre Circus of Horrors/Theatre of Death Elvira Mistress of the Dark/Transylvania 6-5000 Hell of the Living Dead/Rats Night of Terror The Initiation/Mountaintop Motel Massacre Possession/Shock Of course I'm not really interested in Mountaintop Motel Massacre or Transylvania 6-5000, but what the hell these will probably be under $15 each when they come out.

I have all the ones I want seperately, and I don't like double features anyway, so no interest here.

fans of 60s horror (like Hammer films) should definitely buy the Circus o Horror/Theatre o Death disc if they don't have 'em already. I really dug those films.

I am getting those for sure, at least the ones I don't have both movies already.
I love double discs like that, they seem fun to me. I am especially excited for A Blade In The Dark/Macabre and Possession/Shock.

I updated the post on the main page to reflect the prices, as 5 of the titles are only $14.98.

I already own Mountaintop Motel Massacre on laserdisc, and I own A Blade In The Dark and Macabre, separately. ![]() I WOULD get Fade To Black/Hell Night, but I own both. Hell Night was a free DVD for me and I have Fade To Black on VHS. I'd like to upgrade someday, though, so the single DVD release would be fine for me. Last edited by Luna; 06-24-2003 at 09:43 AM. |

I am planning on picking all of them. GRanted I have many of them individually, but hey,it sAnchor Bay, I collect all their DVDs so its more to add on my collections! A big salute to Ancho9r Bay for one upping MGM as MGM double bills are barebone, but these will be packed with extras and supplements!

Hm, I'm curious, don't you think there are other movies you'd be better off buying? I mean, if you already have these, why get them again? Because you collect Anchor Bay? These will be the exact same discs, with a different case! Why get them again when there are hundreds of other titles out there?
Also, I don't really think the comparison with MGM is fair. AB might actually be worse in a way. AB had these out as single discs, for more money. By putting out the double packs, they're actually hurting (in a way) people who went for the single titles. The extras were not put in for a double pack, they were developed for those single disc releases. MGM on the other hand, release their stuff from scratch (and they're cheaper!) I was just about to buy Hell of the Living Dead. If I had read this AFTER ordering it, I'd have actually been pissed off. |

Probably picking up Hell/Rats, Mountain/Cannibal, and maybe a few others. It is very nice getting 2 videos for the price of one, but what will the covers look like?
