Day of the Triffids!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...527028-5077439
Does anyone know if the above release is any better than this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...527028-5077439 I have the latter - and it's beyond bad. |

Well, we obviously know nothing about this release

I was wondering about the "Triffids" DVD myself some time ago:

Well - the first link I have above is a HUGE avoid. I'll take a quick look at the new one in a couple of days and I'll let you know.
You know what - the film is so great, I watched it TWICE through the psychodelic haze that is the first release listed.... |

I've never seen it, but I've always wanted to. So, let us know about the transfer.

Okay - I did not watch the entire film, just sampled it. I can safely say - Woo hoo! - at last a decent copy of this BRILLAINT film. Oh, it's not "reference" by any means - but it's easily watchable, witrh just some grain to bother us. Widescreen too. For less than $15, it's steal.

I have never seen the original version of this, but I do love the BBC TV remake of it. Anyone know if that version is out on DVD?

Click on the first link above (original post) to see the one I'm talking about. Widescreen is essential here - it's 1:2.35.

And an even better classic novel...this one's begging to be remade with state-of-the-art FX (but keep the CGI boys far away from it)!
