Halloween 3 is definatly a decent flick, I wouldn't dare put it in the ranks of the original or part 2 (the best sequel), I even liked part 4 better than 3, however 3 would be right after 4........if that didn't confuse any of yaz

According to the following link, this classic has been added to Universal's October lineup: http://homevideo.universalstudios.co...10%2F01%2F2003

Much like the other releases, I'm sure it won't be the SE I've dreamed of though. I guess I can forget about that THE SENTINEL SE I've always wanted too.

Fuck, still no covers. That Bordello O Blood VHS cover is absolute dogshit though! Everyone better start praying they don't use that, but judging by the re-issue of Frighteners with the "star-power" cover, I wouldn't doubt it at all.

Yeah, the transfer on the R2 disc is 1.78, not 2.35. Sorry. I read somewhere that it was the same transfer, got the R2, was pleased with it, and never looked further into the matter.
The commentary is fun and definitely informative, though, and the anamorphic picture looks pretty good, except for the mis-framing. If I were a huge fan of this film, I suppose I would want the R2 AND the R1, but as it is, I'm content with what I've got.

on dvdfile.com, they mention the H3 reissue and states it will be anamorphic, mono sound and to include a trailer. i wish they would make a SE for this film! looks like i'll hang onto my Goodtimes disc.

Hello

I am pleased to see this. I would like to let you know that Dan O'Herlihy has always appreciated the response that he has gotten over the years from "Genre" fans about this film.
He told me that he never thought much of it until he reappraised it himself years later and thinks it is kind of fun himself. He was always into Irish mythology and their predelictions for darker things.
Dan thought the Stonehenge stuff was crap but it got the point across in his words.
I wish we would have gotten some response from the studios for some commentaries to be done for this and "Luis Bunuels' Robinson Crusoe".
Unfortunately, I do not think Dan is up for this today.
I always liked Halloween 3 too.

I will prob. upgrade just to get an anamorphic print unless the disc costs over 20.00.

I never got the GoodTimes disc because I was waiting for the Universal disc, so I'll be picking this one up for sure!

This one always scared me a bit. I watched it when I was younger and bugs still creep me out. So the idea of putting on a mask and watching a TV show and that happening to kids. Scary.

I wonder which other stories they would've released if H3 had made it at the box office, you know, the anthology idea of the Halloween saga...
