Best performance by an animal in a horror film

I thought the dog that played Thor in Bad Moon was great. He was a better actor than most of the humans!
Honorable mention has to go to Beast from Hills Have Eyes 2, probably the only dog in film history to have an on-screen flashback!

Best performance by an animal in a horror movie: The cat in whatever movie first did the "cat jumping out of the closet" gag. It had to be a classic to be imitated so damn many times.

Worst performance by an animal in a horror movie: every cat since then.

And who the hell shut the damn cat in the closet in the first place?

I agree, i just watched this movie the other day and i couldn't help but notice that the dog was a better actor than some of the people in the movie.

I really agree on the dog in the Thing.

The monkey in Romero's Monkey Shines did a great job. Great movie.

I also agree with Ryan on Cujo.

I agree with the monkey in Monkey Shines. A GREAT performance!

I agree about Cujo, too-- he just might be the most frightening animal who ever lived!

Anybody watch The Thing commentary? John Carpenter and Kurt Russell spend a lot of time giving cudos to the dog's performance. It sorta gets funny after a while.

The horse head in Godfather. Not horror, but I'll never forget that.

Can't think of another dumb enough one right now.

I have to go the dog in The Thing, although Cujo was tight and close. The Thing dog was more freaky, esp. when he's walking down that hallway not looking at the camera at all, and stopping on his marks and shit.
That dog is/was a better actor than at least %50 of movie "stars"!
