Opinions anyone??
I just picked this up for $10. Now I know many of you have made it a life's mission to intentionally steer clear of Brentwood releases...however, this is my 1st and the plots sounded cool on these flicks. Does anyone else have this one or has anyone watched it??? From my understanding....Zombie Hell House is the same as House By The Cemetery. I could be wrong though. Anyone??? The Joker |

They probably spent more on the cover then they did on making the films.

It is indeed House by the Cemetary.
Also contained on there is Tombs of the Blind Dead part 3 (which is why I got it). It has the usual events, skeletons in hooded cloaks, European hotties, and of course, a rape scene. The regualr soundtrack is there as well and the miniature boat scenes are a riot, you'll see what I mean. The one w/ Peter Cushing and John Hurt (Night of the Ghoul) was somewhat enjoyable as well. The only one on here that I did not enjoy (and could not finish) was Horror Rises from the Tomb. Overall I think that this set is well worth the money. 3 out of 4 stars.

Interesting movies in this set I think! What are the different specs on the movie? Can you tell us please?
Are that the movies which are in there: "Horror rises from the tomb" aka "Blutmesse fuer den Teufel" aka "Mark of the Devil 4" - supposed to be really bad Zombie Flesh Eater - is that really "Blind Dead 3" Zombie Hell House - never heard of; any alternate title? Night of the Ghoul - same thing Fredson |

Unlikley to be many classics in that set, but for $10 how can you go wrong. Even if you only sit through them once.

They're all full-frame (taken from VHS, it looks like), except House By the Cemetary, which is the same as the Diamond disc (a rip of the old EC laser, I believe). Blind Dead 3 looks particularly bad. But, then again, where else you gonna see it on DVD?

ok....I started by watching Zombie Hell House (House By the Cemetery)....I havent watched the other 3 movies yet. At first I put it on.....said to myself "what the fuck!!", the sound was kinda staticy.....similar to the snap crackling you'd hear while playing a record. The video looked a little blurry in some shots. Before I knew it, I'd gotten used to the sound and video and just started watching the movie. I really thought it was pretty cool overall!! A lot of throats being cut by good ol' Dr. Freudstein (now I understand Dave's last title, lol). So...as one should expect with a Brentwood release, the sound and video were not top notch by any means but the movie itself was good. So, 1 down and 3 to go!

Sure you can ![]() I've had my fill of Brentwood. They're not even as good as VHS for the most part. Repeat viewings are highly unlikely. I read a review of their disks somewhere, and the only interesting thing was the accusation that Brentwood stole "Carnival of Souls" from the Criterion disc. Apparently it looks VERY good - too good in fact. I have no idea of the worth of such a statement (even if it is true). If it is, then whatever set that was on would be worth it. Other wise stay well away. Brentwood thrive on people asking - "How bad can it be?" and "It's cheap, and look at all the films you get!". But everytime I see one, I feel as though I was suckered. |

i almost bought one of their sets a few months back coz of the titles it had on it.. but then im anal about quality so if i liked a movie id end up going out and buying the legitimate copy anyway so the brentwood would be a waste..

yeah I completely see what all you guys are saying. I'm kinda anal about quality also....but lol, like dwatts said, I basically said "it's only $10, what the hell". I did like the 1st movie I've watched so, we'll see....hopefully the other 3 will be cool
