The Wraith and The Gate

I ran across The Wraith and The Gate at Best Buy for less than $6 a piece, for anyone interested. Unfortunately, they're both full-frame with no extras, but I can't complain too much for $6.

I bought The Wraith at BB a few weeks ago, but I haven't seen The Gate there yet.

The german releases of Wraith and Gate are in anamorphotic 1,85:1 Widescreen. They have both a trailer as extra. Both flicks were released by Marketing.

They filmed the Wraith here in Tucson.I guess some stunt drivers were killed so they can't film chase scenes in that area anymore.

I read on Morbius from Don May Jr that these titles were being shopped around and everyone including Anchor Bay, Synapse and Blue Underground turned them down, so it wound up in Platnimum DVD? I am shocked Anchor Bay turned doen THE GATE. Never saw it, people say good things but if Anchor Bay turned it down, it much suck royal!

Man, thats sad, I think the end credit dedicates this film to the stunt man and the cameraman who got killed. Tragic.

Both The Wraith and The Gate are your typical low-budget 80s horror/sci-fi fare. I live for this stuff. Still waiting for so many other low-budget 80s classics to come out on DVD, like Night of the Creeps, Scarecrows.
