Post Escape From NY: Which format?

OK, we all know the Escape from New York DVD doesn't have the extras of the LD. But which one LOOKS better? I like extras, but the movie is always the most important factor to me. And since Escape From NY isn't high on my all-time favorites, I don't know if I'd ever go through the extras anyway.

I would have bought the LD today (Ross' Exchange has a copy...bit pricey though: $25) but I decided to break one of my spark plug wires while cleaning up after an oil change, so my $$$ had to go there instead.

Well, I can only speak for the DVD, and although people have said the pic is good, I found it lacked resolution, and seemed a bit indistinct, unlike all the other John Carpenter DVDs I have (about 10, including the Image ones). It could just be my imagination though.

The new DVD has a GREAT transfer. I have seen the LD and it has better features but the overall LD doesnt have as good a presentation. I sold the LD, and I regret it, I'm looking to pick up another copy just for the extras.
