Remember that DDD thread?

Where I defended them - and said they were slow, but reliable?

Well, WTF?????

First I order Zombie 3, finally get around to looking at the box - and NO COMMENTARY? So, it's the older disc.....

Then today I get my Re-Animator Millenium Edition! Oops, they sent me some earlier version that appears to be single disc (it is from Elite, I assume it's the version before they went Millenium.)

Anyway, being abroad, it's such a pain to return them. I have emailed their support - but I guess I found all this kind of ironic after I had defended them so much. I'm going to keep using them, but I did want to admit they had made errors here.

the newer zombie 3 has a commentary. SS released the disc to Blockbuster (and some stores) before they had the commentary finished. then, a few months later, they released it with the commentary. however, you can mail in your old copy to get the new one. just go to their website (which i can't think of the url off hand).

I have never seen the ZOMBI 3 with commentary anywhere, online or in stores. The only way to get it is to mail in the disc to Media Blasters for a replacement. As for RE-ANIMATOR, I still have the old disc and it's not missing much from the ME, but it sucks that you got stiffed on it.

my rule of thumb is this: if there are 2 versions of a movie, 1 new and 1 old never buy online because most likely someone will screw up and send the wrong 1 because most people won't return them. it's just not worth the possible hassle.

Yeah, but when one is called the Millenium Edition, there shouldn't be a problem.

I can kind of see my problem now. If you search for this title on DDD, you get two hits. BOTH of them state they are the Millenium edition - but they have different pricing - one is $18, the other around $20.

I descriptions for both are the same - two disc editions, both describing the Millenium edition. However, on the $20 version (the one I ordered) the graphic of the cover is WRONG - it shows the non-millenium edition.

I guess this "explains" it. But I will go ahead and make the change, since there is no reason for me to pay good money for a lesser version. The description was for the Millenium edition, and the pricing, I believe, reflects what they wanted for that version. So I think they should change it - as long as I don't open it up.

Still sucks though - being in Europe, I reckon this will take a good 6 to 8 weeks to fix.

Hey Dwatts, just curious, why did you chose the more expenisve version if both descriptions were the same?

He probably figured that the more expensive one would be the double disc.

Heh heh. Actually - I HAVE NO FREAKING IDEA why I did that. It was an order of 10 discs, maybe I just missed it. I just pick from my WishList, maybe at the time I added it to the list - there was only one entry. Otherwise I just can't give you a good reason.

They emailed me back saying to return it - which I will do. But it's a real pain in the ass to be honest.

I just went through my past orders there - and sadly, I have found some errors. They say they shiped seven DVD's to me on the same day - but only four have gotten here. On my previous 10 DVD order, I got a box with only 9 in it. I don't know why the other one was not there - it says it shipped at the same time as the rest. I have asked them about it. I'm sure they'll all get here - but something is strange.

Well, I am sorry to hear you had problems with DDD. I am glad that this thread opened my eyes to the exchange policy at Media Blasters. I am going to send off my disc for the one that contains the commentary ASAP. When I get it, I'll be sure to update my review of the DVD so you guys will be in the loop.

Who all is in the Zombi 3 commentary? I didn't know someone would do a commentary for such a bad film.

I ordered mine from Diabolik DVD and it arrived pretty fast - two days later, I think. The commentary features stars Beatrice Ring and Deran Serafian and is pretty funny. This disc also has an interview with Franco Di Girolamo that I don't think was on the first release.

Hmm... I was thinking of getting this disc again... maybe I will now.
