My Crepitus
My crepitus will bludgeon your sanity with rapid fire editing & a plot that goes in so many directions you wont know what the fuck is happening the first screening. its down right fucking psychedelic. It is the first feature film of the immaculate Mikey (maggot) Schneider, one of the very warped minds behind august underground’s mordum. It has a lofi feel that’s just plain grimy, it reeks of low budget godliness. This flick doesn’t explain to the viewer whats happening instead it lets the viewer try to decipher the underlining meanings that bash you at every turn. Which I will admit that I don’t understand a lot of the experience but I figure a little more out with each viewing.
*warning mild spoilers* it follows Jeffery. In a mental institute with his mind running amuck, visions that come as briskly as they go which include himself fucking a dead chick & transforming into a demon, women masturbating on their period, chicks puking on his face(which is real) during sex, a monstrous figure getting its eyes rubbed out, a demonic fiend that drinks blood from a chalice of bones. & this is just the tip of the iceberg. There is much more I wouldn’t want to ruin. It also follows the catastrophe filled life of jefferys therapist, who by the end might be crazier then his patients. Also the sounds littered throughout doubles the confusion, it floods your ears with sounds of every sort. Baffling your hearing just as much as the film does your sight. This flick is like a drug experience, you might trip harder then thought. I recommend you check it out if ever given the chance, it shows that maggot is an up & coming director that will attract a lot of attention once his films start reaching the public. Especially after “mordum” comes out, people will then want to check out the madness that he creates. If interested check out www.toetagpictures.com. I had no idea Killjoy from the band Necrophagia was involved with August Underground's Mordum?! How cool is that!
Clearly Killjoy is a name that has been synonymous with music (Necrophagia, Enoch, Ravenous, Viking Crown, Eibon, etc) and horror for over two decades, his vast knowledge and passion for the genre is legendary to say the least, and now joining forces with Toe Tag Pictures gives him the means to explore and exploit visions that have been kept locked away and eating at his very soul for too long. Killjoy recently commented: "Toe Tag Pictures will be a true breath of rotted air into a genre that has become too safe and sterile over the past decade With my partners, we'll go back to creating unrelenting films that challenge the politically correct guidelines that have become the status quo. We'll kick things off with "August Underground's Mordum" and then continue our downward spiral into Horror Hell, rekindling the feelings evoked by films like "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," "The Beyond," "Zombie" and "Last House on the Left," while exploring the bizarre aspects of David Lynch and David Cronenberg at times. The results will always be horror. We are interested in this genre. We're not going to sell out like so many that traveled this route before us!" |
