I do like this movie and think it's one of the best i've seen in the genre albeit the story is lackluster the actors do make the film enjoyable. I really hope some N.A. distro picks this up as it is really a cult classic.

An average film with great music. To bad it's only 55 minutes. Or maybe that's good.

Are there any hyperkinetic movies with actual noise soundtracks? Deaddevilman, I think you could help out the most. Do noisicians do soundtracks? I know Merzbow did a soundtrack, but the movie is ultra-rare and expensive on eBay. What about Kazumoto Endo or Guilty Connector or any of them? Don't the experimental filmographers use experimental musicians?

My experience comes strictly from Japan. Kazumoto Endo is a bit more popular in Europe, especially Germany. I know of no soundtracks he has done for any Japanese film, but it wouldn't surprise me if he was sought after in Europe. Yoshihiro Hanno has done a few soundtracks for several Chinese films, but I have yet to see one. Kazuya Ishigami is someone to look out for. He has started an organization called C.U.E and is resposible for locating a lot of unknown noise talent and getting them noticed. The whole soundtrack/music issue is fucked up in Japan. The underground music scene in Japan is one of the best in the world. The only problem is that it's rare for one of the major labels to pick them up and since they are usually affiliates of movie companies, they want to push their own artists. There are numerous independent film makers that use noise but the movies are never seen. In early July I went to a noise event that had about 10 noise artists doing their thing. Several of them had film along with the music. They all told me that they did the film theirselves and had little hope of doing anything major unless some serious funding happened to drop in their lap. What's interesting is that some major companies are starting to provide funding for nosie/film mini projects. Kodak of course is a big sponsor, but other companies like Toyota, Coca-Cola, Heiniken and Philip Morris. If my eardrums can take it, I'll be at another noise event later this month, permited it flows with my travel plans. I'll ask some more detailed questions and get back to you.

I have Merzbow's Venerology album and Exit 13's Ethos Musick album with the last song on that album having a noise track included. Other than that, that's about it. I do have the 60 Seconds album from Atari Teenage Riot but their not really a noise band.

Yeah Gnaghi, that new flash intro is cool as fuck man! I watched Junk today and realized I didn't get an insert card with chapter stops. Was this deliberate or did that release just not include one anyway?

If you like that, you should check out some other, older stuff (well, just not his new stuff). That album isn't good at all. That was him meddling with death metal and stuff and Relapse whored out the Release side to get metal heads into noise. THis was the perfect product of that. However, it worked on me because that's when I bought this one. They had a Release sale of $10 cds, so I got this, Atrax Morgue - Sickness Report, and Brighter Death Now - Innerwar. I'm just glad I kept going because I got to see how talented Merzbow really is.
