Post Idle Hands?!

OK I caught the last 40 minutes of this on cable tonight and have to say it was pretty decent.. Sure it has elements of the lame 90s horror movies that I hate but it was pretty damn funny and had some decent gore and deaths.. Reminiscent of American Werewolf in London for obvious reasons.. What does everyone else think of it?

A great horror comedy. The DVD is excellent too - the commentary is one of the best I've heard. Very Evil Dead 2 like in parts... I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Whoa. 3 for 3.. Thanks guys.. that was the first thing I did was look into the DVD, sounds good.. I'll probably have to check it out.

I'm just surprised it was good. I've pretty much written off all of these modern/teen horror movies, but then I'm sitting around flipping channels and catch Seth Green with a bottle buried in his head so I watch for a few minutes and its great!

Same here! Idle Hands has a nice 80's horror feel to it. Very underrated.

I saw it in theaters the day it came out thinking it was a comedy, but was pleasantly surprised by seeing that it had a good amount of gore as well. Devon Sawa seems to know what he's doing. Say what you will, but Final Destination was another good 90's horror flick. Also, Idle Hands has the ever gorgeous Jessica Alba in it. Great DVD too, I only rented it, but it's on my "to buy" list.

Yeah, Final Destination was a fine film too. A new concept for a teen horror for once. Well executed, too.

Idle Hands fucking rocks! I'm going to review it eventually.

VERY underated, VERY funny horror/comedy movie. Right up there with Evil Dead 2 IMO.

I finally convinced my brother to watch it the other night and he's watched it 4 times SINCE!

See, this is why I love horrordvds.com.

Every other forum I read, everyone rants about how awful they think "Idle Hands" is. It was one of my first 10 discs, and almost 200 discs later, it's still among my favorites. It's also the only disc I've watched more with the commentary on than without.

I rented Idle Hands this weekend and was surprised by how much I liked it. It's going on my "to buy" list now. It's definitely a keeper.

Definitely one of the better horror comedies to come along in a while. It deserved to do much better at the theater, but oh well.

I agree about the commentary too, it's hilarous!

There are other forums besides this one?

I don't personally think Idle Hands comes close to ED2, AWiL, or RotLD (three of my favorite films), but it was certainly fun. I'd love to see Jessica Alba do more horror films and Seth Green is ALWAYS great (Why don't you just kill him?).

My favorite line came from Pnub: "Don't be such a skirt"

Not to mention Mighty Joe Bong (complete with seat belts)

And the only reason I even rented it, the lovely Jessica Alba, doesn't disappoint at all.

Commentary is a blast as well, as the director points out all his homages, including Suspiria, Tenebrae, Dead-Alive, Re-Animator, The French Connection, and Cannibal Ferox.

I rented this, maybe a purchase is in order soon

Plus, unlike "Dark Angel", she has very little dialogue but a lot of screentime. I had no idea what an awful actress she was until recently.
