Dinner with the Vampire

Don't know if anyone has discussed this movie in a thread.....but was curious to see what everyone thought of this Lamberto Bava film. Never heard of it, but came across this DVD at Xploitedcinema.com.
Very much like Lamberto, however the last film I saw of his, Demons 3 - The Ogre, was abysmal (IMHO).

its pretty funny.. it IS a comedy though. it is not serious or gory in any way. I bought it from xploited a couple years ago.

Thanks! I read that it was a pretty stylish film (well, what else from a Bava film???) but didn't know that it was a comedy.

Reading the other review for this, found out that the Dutch release is pretty much the same. I'll check out that one sometime. It's dead cheap over here.

This is one I've never seen, but the Mya DVD certainly sounds like a blind buy. The 10kbullets review has me intrigued.

I got this in the mail today and got a chuckle out of the back cover synopsis:

"... delivers a good mix between a Hammer-style horror and a teen comedy."

I admit I am reserved about buying Mya titles; they're very expensive in Canada. For some reason, I chose this one and that got me pretty pumped. I have a couple hundred teen comedies... this will be the first with "Hammer-style horror", though.

I think buying Mya titles will eventually be a good investment. I really dont expect them to stick around very long. I do hope Im wrong though. Thats why I dont mind the high prices.

this new DVD is a major upgrade from my bootleg VHS I've been watching for years. Dinner With The Vampire is a fun film, and I am very happy to add this DVD to my Lamberto Bava collection. I hope that Mya does a Prince Of Terror DVD too..
