One Dark Night DVD?

What happened to this movie on DVD? I thought I remember reading somewhere somewhat recently that it was going to be released, but I can't seem to find any pre-order info anywhere.

Yeah, BU announced it, but I haven't heard anything on it since, and it wasn't even listed on their site last time I looked. Its a big favorite of mine that I've been waiting to have on DVD for a while, so I really hope they're still releasing it.

I thought I was the only one who gave a shit about this movie! Glad to see others are wanting it, too. It's a definite favorite of mine. I hope BU announces this and Four Flies on Grey Velvet soon; they supposedly have the rights to both, rumor has it. BU has a few really interesting things already announced in their line-up, but I'm really hankerin' for these two titles.

Man, I haven't seen One Dark Night since I saw it in the theater.

Mausoleum madness with Adam West, Meg Tilly, and some animated corpses.....and that black girl with a toothbrush....

I remember this being a little strong for a PG rating also...with much corpse goo and such.

I also saw this in theaters and liked it quite a bit. If BU does indeed release it I'll pick it up for sure.

Totally!!! That's so funny you mentioned that! I almost commented on the exact thing -- the black girl who chews on her toothbrush for the whole movie. Isn't funny that that is like one of the most indelible images in that film?!

I saw this several times, both in the theatre and on HBO, but it's been so long; isn't there like a Portugese magician (did I make up the Portugese part?) who's buried in the mausoleum and the kids are there for a sororiety/fraternity pledge thing? It seems like when the magician guy returns he reanimates all of the corpses, his eyes glow, and he shoots electricity type stuff from his fingers (sorry, I'm having a memory recall process happening in type here).

Yeah, it did seem like pretty potent horror for a PG movie. I seem to remember lots of creepy corpses and messy grue.

Shit, I'm getting really excited for this to get a nice BU-style DVD treatment!

I think he was Russian or something (wasn't his name Ramar or something like that?). I like his apartment with dead girls in the closet and plates stuck in the wall from his mental powers. This film needs a DVD release soon.

Had a pretty intense scene with those reanimated corpses falling on that toothbrush chewing girl (I think) if I remember correctly ...
Damn, It's been ages. I hope it hits DVD soon.

It amazes me how many at this site saw ONE DARK NIGHT at the movies, much less remember seeing it at all. I remember loving it at the time when I was nine or ten, but have my doubts that it still holds up. I'm not sure it really matters since sentimentality usually clouds my judgement. I still love THE BOOGENS even though I should probably know better. When it gets released, it will be mine.

I remember it reminding me of Phantasm, I guess because of the mausoleum locale. Any movie that placed a group of kids in a mausoleum over night with fucked up shit happening was usually sure to be entertaining.

Where is this DVD?! I'm dying here. BU hasn't updated their site for a while and ODN is one of the last of four films on the Future Releases page. So what's up? It's got to be coming soon. I need it!

I'm sorta at the point where I wish they wouldn't "announce" anything, not just BU, but all companies....why announce something when theres a possibility of its getting pushed backed or 86ed all together? All that does is piss off the people who are anxiously awaiting it. I've had favorites "announced" only to have them not come to pass.....its like false hope

Where is the love?! I'm shocked at the seeming lack of fanfare for this great little movie. There's got to be more of us around here who are anxiously awaiting this DVD debut.
Maybe I'm just overly geeked-out for this puppy (nah...), but for those unfamiliar with it, you should definitely check it out when it finally comes.

Everybody knows that the guys at BU are on vacation in the caribbean. Let them rest for god's sake! The 2004 was a busy year for them ... can't you understand that they're not machines ???

Anyways, the One Dark Night title remains as a future release on their site:
http://www.blue-underground.com/future_releases.php

That should be enough 4 u,
Franco
