The more Lenzi the better. Behind Fulci, Lenzi is my favorite european director. I really dig his films. He did things in multiple genres, which is always a good thing. There are still more goodies from his career to be released on DVD.

I have the Another World DVD of INGLORIOUS BASTARDS and was very pleased with it (2 disc, interviews, alternate credits,trailer,etc.).Can any of you compare the A.W. disc directly with the new Severen disc in terms of picture quality ? I was thinking of getting the new one just for the extras but wanted to know how these two transfers stacked up ?
Also wondering if there is a decent anamorphic DVD of Franco Nero's spaghetti western THE MERCENARY available ?

I had my eyes on that one before the Severin release was announced.
I wonder what the differences are a/v wise.

Nope. There's a Mercenary thread where we discussed it.
If my intuition is right we will see this on DVD soon.Next year probably.Only my intuition though.

I'm STILL waiting on the Severin titles from July. As you all know they've pushed back Bloody Moon to 9/9, so my entire order is waiting on that. Also Cannibal Terror is sold out everywhere, has anyone actually had this shipped to them? Has this been delayed too?

I placed my monthy order with Tony:
Rome Armed to the Teeth
Jess Franco Gold Collection (VIP)
Island of the Fishmen, The (NoShame)
+ Some Jap stuff

Thanks Crystal.
I thought the Another World transfer was sharp and clean, the soundtrack was clear and pretty pleasing too. There's a 20 plus minute interview with the director and a 50 plus minute interview with the late composer,Francesco DeMassi.Other extras included the English language credits (opening and closing),trailer, bios and trivia plus other trailers from the company.Multiple language tracks and subs.Nice package, got it quite cheap.
Still want to compare it with the new disc, though.

Righto, it's my birthday in a couple of weeks. And here's the list I hope to buy after some kind people give me money as a present :
  • Nobody Box (with My Name is Nobody + Nobody is the Greatest)
  • The Big Gundown (Koch)
  • Bloodstained Butterfly
  • Footprints
  • Do You Like Hitchcock?
  • Mother of Tears
  • Nightmare Castle
  • Deadly Sweet
  • The Blind Dead Collection
  • The She-Beast
  • Whip and the Body (EMS)
  • The Weekend Murders
And a few CDs.

As you can see I have some catching up to do. There's more on my wishlist but these are the so-called "essentials" from the list. No Euro Crime this time round though. Bought some not that long ago.

Autopsy gets alot of flack for being slow, but it truly is a entertaining and enjoyable Giallo if your into them.

Only film I would have dropped from your original list is Watch Me When I Kill, I did not like that film AT ALL.... not even smoking a few bowls helped ease the pain of that horrble film.

I think I need Rhett to review Weekend Murders before I buy it, I almost always agree with him.

Thanks, but the first post of this thread is more than five years old. Still, Autopsy I thought was great and Watch Me .. was quite OK. Wrote a minireview for it somewhere on HorrorDVDs. Essential viewing for the Giallo aficionado. The Shameless DVD is recommended (although I'm quite happy with my X-Rated DVD)

There's still some titles in this thread I haven't gotten round to buy yet. Maybe next time.

It's "that" time of the year again. Probably not going to be too very fruitful this year. Still dealing with some remains of the crisis here.
Anyway, if all goes well, this could be my next order next month:

  • The Mercenery (KOCH) - Corbucci
  • A Lizard in a Woman's Skin (Optimum) - Fulci
  • Sweet body of Deborah (Fin de Siecle) - Guerrieri
  • The Etruscan kills again (Code Red) - Crispino
  • Machine Gun McCain (Blue Underground) - Montaldo
  • Medaglione Insanguinato (IIF or Code Red?) - Dallamano
  • Primal rage (Code Red) - Rambaldi
  • One or two of the new Inferno releases

And perhaps the Broken Mirrors, broken Minds book by McDonagh.

We'll see..

Here's what I have bought recently. It's not exactly what I had planned, but I just had to answer to my #1 passion, MUSIC!..:

DVD:
  • The Mercenery (KOCH) - Corbucci
  • A Lizard in a Woman's Skin (Optimum) - Fulci
  • The Etruscan kills again (Code Red) - Crispino
  • Machine Gun McCain (Blue Underground) - Montaldo
  • Fatal Frames (Festa)
  • Who can Kill a Child? / ¿Quién puede matar a un niño? (Mr Horror Presents) Serrador
CD:
  • Premiata Forneria Marconi - Cook (3 disc special limited edition)
  • Crack! - Si Todo Hiciera
  • Locanda Delle Fate - Forse le Lucciole ...
  • Trettioariga Kriget - Konserten '73 (Single)
  • Alamaailman vasarat - Mahaan

A very well balanced list IMO.
