Superior slasher - you got your social subtext, your jarring scenes - but plenty of gore and of course a sequel setup ending (which they should have followed in part two instead of retreading the same story).

Because it wasn't released with 5.1 in the theater?

All my friends hate this film, but I love it. It is very original and scary. Who among us hasn't had the urge to say Candyman standing in front of the bathroom mirror? I have the old DVD, but depending on the price I might have to upgrade to this.

I love this movie, one of my most favorite dark movies.

I'm obsessed with the soundtrack... Philip Glass does an amazing job with it!

I know it's a petty gripe, but the new comedy logo really clashes with the otherwise dark cover. Was the logo's designer told that Candyman was a screwball teen movie, or something?

I haven't seen this movie in a long time and I like it so this is a must buy. It's such a catchy idea for a horror movie. One of the better horror movies of the 90s. I think I'll go stand in front of my mirror now and say........

I read in the recent Fangoria where the same transfer will be used on the new Candyman SE...nah it couldn't be, could it?

It also said the trailer from the previous DVD will be curiously missing on the new DVD.
