Raimi's CRIMEWAVE on DVD in Hong Kong

Does anybody know anything about this release? Is it the full version, and good quality? I'm amazed to see it on DVD at last.

...I don't get Red Shoe Diaries. Why was David Duchovny reading Matt LeBlanc's letter?

I still say the content alone makes sure there will be no 'good' version....

and I said that with a minimum of capitals

Angry Crimewave

I have it, picture quality is rubbish. The "5.1" sound is absolute rubbish too. It's in non-anamorphic widescreen and the title on the actual movie is "The XYZ Murders", I think it is uncut.

The title The XYZ Murders was the original title, then Sam Raimi changed it to Crimewave. I will keep my VHS copy, until it comes out in a Region 1 DVD release.

I have the vhs. The movie has it's moments... just not very many.

Still, I'd get it on dvd.

I have a DVD that I converted from an old VHS copy. I'll hang on to that until a reliable company puts out a release.

It's a port of the Japanese laserdisc, and it looks like it. Don't expect high-quality picture or sound, but if you don't have the LD to begin with, it may still be worth the $5 US asking price at sites like layoyo.com.

The film was destroyed by Avco Embassy, so don't expect anything like a truly "uncut" version to ever come out. Raimi's film simply doesn't exist and probably never will. Even if Raimi somehow gets access to the footage to make his original cut again, it'll still be a bit too late to put Bruce Campbell back in the lead role.

Even Raimi doesn't like it, I doubt this will EVER be released again.
