What color is your Christmas?

WHAT COLOR IS YOUR CHRISTMAS?

Quote:
Following the premiere of Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning at Fantasia, Fangoria chatted with the films producer, Paula Devonshire, who also happens to be working on the remake of Black Christmas along with her producing partner Steve Hoban. So what's the status on it?

“[The writers are] just working on a new draft right now...It’s still in the early stages of development. We do want to really fast-track it and get it ready to be shot in late winter/early spring of next year, so very early 2005 is probably when it will go before the cameras. That’s one of the projects we’re just kind of going full speed ahead with, though there is no director on it and there’s been no casting done yet. But I believe that once the script is in a position where it’s presentable, and is ready to be sent out everywhere, that people will be attracted to it, because it is such a well-known, classic horror film that people will hopefully want to be attached to it.”

Perhaps a goose just walked over my future grave, but this whole idea gives me the shivers. Not sure why, but updating Black Christmas, to me, is like trying to make Halloween again. It's not needed and just can't be as effective as the original. But one never knows, does one?

Devonshire did confirm, unfortunately, that original director Bob Clark will have no involvement with the remake, at least not as of now.

Yuck, I can't hide the disgust I feel over the idea that they are remaking my favorite slasher movie of all time. What do I know? Maybe it will be good... yeah okay I'll probably see it and take great pleasure complaining about how terrible it is much like I did with the remake of TCM.

Black Christmas is one of my top five favorite films of all time, and is a true masterpiece, definitely superior to Halloween in my eyes. This remake has no chance in hell of equalling or surpassing it. It won't even come close. Whatever though. Won't effect my viewings of the brilliant original in any way. At least its not a sequel like they were planning at one time.
