Problems with my Player
I recently bought "ALIEN - The Director's Cut", and while watching the complete featurette it froze up halfway through. I brought it back to Best Buy and got a new one, but the same problem happened in the exact same spot..... so I stuck it in my Playstation 2 and it works just fine.
Over the weekend, I watched "The Lost Boys - Special Edition" and found that some of the supplements don't work on that either, but again, it works fine in the Playstation. It's obviously my player. I don't have a top of the line player, but it's not a cheap one either. Does anybody know why this happens? I could understand if the whole disc doesn't work, but I don't understand why some of the supplements work, while others don't. Do DVD players deteriorate over time? Would cleaning it help the problem? |

I'd guess it's the position the supplements are encoded on the disc that is the issue.

The Alien DVD does that in one of my DVD players also. On another player it doesn't do it...bizarre. No visible marks on the discs.
