Thumbs up Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla re-release

Just finished watching this, with my daughter, and I was impressed. It was never a great movie, but the new transfer is beyond belief. I'm so used to seeing this on a crappy VHS transfer, that I'm blown away by the DVD. I also never thought I'd see an anamorphic transfer of a 70's Godzilla movie. It brought a tear to my eye.......that is until Godzilla started kicking some serious @$$!!! Now I need to find a copy of Godzilla vs. Hedorah. I hope other 70's monster movies get the same treatment....This is freaking awesome.

GODZILLA VS. HEDORAH and GODZILLA VS. GIGAN both look equally as good...too bad G VS. H has the international dub tho...I miss hearing that cheezy "Save the Earth" song in English as it was in the A.I.P. dub!

I can't wait to get these. I currenly have the Toho versions which are amazing with their cute little extras (Super 8 versions, Some behind the scenes film clips, ect.)
Now I know what the heck the dialogue is all about since they're not subtitled in English.

I've just recently watched Godzilla vs Hedorah and Godzilla vs Gigan and agree that the transfers are amazing. Totally blew me away. I've decided to wait for Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla until December as it's packaged with Son of Godzilla and Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. in some sort of Godzilla collection... (There are about ten of these now, and they're all different.)

Anyone know where I might find the A.I.P. English dub of Save the Earth as an MP3 or WAV file?

Thumbs up

Just watched Godzilla vs Hedorah and I was impressed with the transfer. Hard to believe we're finally getting some decent transfer's of these older movies. Gives me hope all the movies will eventually be released with this quality. I still can't wait for the original to be released. Good times for the big guy.

I've also heard the rumour about Godzilla vs Ebirah (aka Sea Monster) being released early next year, along with a slew of other Toho titles.

As for Mechagodzilla 2, would that happen to be Terror of Mechagodzilla?

Amen to that, brother. There are a few OOP DVDs out there, according to DVDaf. I haven't seen one though.

Ahh, I stand corrected, thank you.

BTW, I just hopped over to DVDaf and they have both Mechagodzilla 2 and Sea Monster listed for Feb-8-2005. Great news.
