For the third year in a row IFC will have Tom Savini hosting their INDIE SCREAMS. This year the theme is INDIE SCREAMS ITALIANO. Tom actually went to Rome and filmed all the bumpers in and around the area. Saturday Oct. 30th will feature the films of Dario Argento with the network premiere of Suspiria and then Sunday the 31st we will all be treated to the films of Mario Bava.
Oct. 30th 8:00PM Dario Argento: An Eye For Horror (2001) 9:00PM Suspiria (1977) 10:45PM Inferno (1980) 12:45AM Deep Red (1975) Oct. 31st 8:00 PM Mario Bava: Maestro Of The Macabre (2000) 9:00 PM Black Sunday (1960) 10:30 PM A Bay Of Blood (1971) 12:00 AM Baron Blood (1972) I am excited about this. I havent yet seen any of these films. I look forward to watching Suspiria, Deep Red and A Bay Of Blood. |

Much better than what they had last year. Too bad I no longer have cable!
Also glad they aren't doing the annoying "mystery" schedule they did last year...not announcing the films so people would have to wait only to find they were mainly stuff like CHERRY FALLS and THE LAST BROADCAST [though they did have MANIAC.] |

I've been excited all week to watch IFC Saturday and Sunday night. I'm really looking forward to seeing the specials on each director, but to me the biggest thrill will be finally getting to see Deep Red. I've heard so much about this movie but have not seen it yet. It's great that at least one network shows interest in Italian horror. Maybe this will lead to more Italian horror on the IFC especially giallo films.

They've played all of those Argento films in years past. Last year they even had TENEBRE as one of their "mystery" films.
Don't think I've seen the Bava anywhere though....too bad I'll have to miss it. |
