It's time to pitch my weathered VHS, cause this SE sounds sweet! Can't wait to hear the commentary with Naughton and Dunne. Too bad Landis didn't join them.

I remember watching this flick when I was 8 or so. Loved it ever since. The SE will be mine.....oh yes.....it will be mine.

That whacked out "home invasion" dream sequence freaked me out when I was little.
I've always enjoyed this film more than The Howling. It's the perfect blend of horror and comedy. Can't wait for the DVD!

...is one of my All Time favorites from the 80s, i watched it about 3 times in the Theater. I bought the Live DVD a couple years ago and i wasn't too pleased with it (no 16x9, the 5.1 remix sucked). So now i can hardly wait for this new SE DVD

Yes, I can't wait to get this one! Now Dave has a review of his very own up. Good work Dave! I'm glad I never eBayed my LIVE dvd though, since there are no trailers on the Universal dvd. Some people think the teaser is lame, but I think it's perfect.

I remember this one so well. I was 12, and it was my second R-rated movie I got to see, the first being the Blues Brothers. Interesting that my first two Rs were John Landis movies. What can I say, I've got a great Dad! Anyway, I've mentioned numerous times here how I was so enamored with Jenny Agutter since seeing her in Logan's Run, and it was a great pleasure seeing her show up in AWIL, gettin' nekkid and buck wild no less! Thank you Jenny!

And then there's Rick Baker. Both I and my brother were already fans of his, due to King Kong, Star Wars, Incredible Melting Man, and of course, The Howling. We read Famous Monsters magazine all the time, and so knew his name very well. We knew from FM that he had worked on AWIL before it came out, so we were primed and ready to see it. Man, did he deliver, or what? Great transformation sequences and rotting flesh. Beautiful, just beautiful! Good to see Rick's staying in form, as evidenced by Planet of the Apes. Say what you will about the movie, the makeup was great.

And then there's John Landis. Kentucky Fried Movie, Animal House, Blue Brothers, AWIL, Twilight Zone, Trading Places... From '77 to '83, this guy was simply put, "in the zone". Come to think of it, I wonder if I did get to see Animal House in the theater. Seems like I did, but I can't remember for sure. Maybe it was at a repretoiry screening. Anyway, looking back on all this, I realize that my family were big fans of this guys works at the time. I never consciously knew that he directed all these, I just knew that either my dad or uncle took me to these movies when they came out (no, not KFM, saw that one much later) and they were all great stuff. A big thanks to my dad and uncle for taking me to these movies.

Finally, there's David Naughton. Well, my family were all "Peppers" so he was instantly recognizable. Wouldn't you like to be a Pepper too? No kids, nostalgia isn't always pretty!

Get this disc! 'Nuff said.
