Love the original, will give this a chance. Gotta love Connelly too.

I don't know why anyone particularly likes Connelly, she's yet another pretty girl in hollywood, so what, not a selling point to me. I'm pretty tired of these asian remakes, to be honest. The original films can't get a release, and just a few years later they're remade - just because the masses won't read a damn subtitle, and maybe have to learn a little something about another culture - PUKE.
I don't mind remakes in principle, but the Asian thing is really getting on my nerves. Talk about bankrupt of ideas. At the same time, it shows how myopic the American audiences have gotten. I watched The Ring remake, but since then, when I've needed a Ring fix, I went back to the original, not the remake. Actually, I like the original Dark Water so much, I might well skip this remake entirely. Two thumbs down! Last edited by dwatts; 11-11-2004 at 11:53 AM. |

You know, the upside to american remakes of j-horror is that the american film makers are getting practise at making horror that's actually scary. While it may have had inferior imagery to it's japanese companion, "The Ring" was actually quite effective!

I'll go see it. I'll want to see the original also, of course. Connelly is gorgeous!

I'll give it a shot. I have pretty much enjoyed all of the Asian remakes of late, and Connelly is a selling point for me. She is exceedingly beautiful and very talented. I am sure she will be worth watching.

Huh, I guess I am surprised at how many of you would go see something just because it has a pretty face in it. I've not really seen her in anything impressive, acting wise. I guess it goes to show, star power does indeed work

I'm sure the experience from Jennifer's Japanese-language album will great help her out while working with a Japanese crew.

Jennifer's just a bonus. I'm not going to go see it just because she's in it. It looks like a decent movie. |

I'm really looking forward to this one. Jennifer is a huge bonus and it's nice to see that she's done another horror flick.

None of these Asian horror remakes have equalled the originals, and this one has the least chance of doing so yet. I'll go see it, but won't pay to do so. I was excited to see Connelly in another horror flick, but at this point, this being remade at all just bugs me.

I'm intrested in seeing this just for the fact that the original is a peice of crap and one of the worst movies I've seen. Horrible pacing I fell asleep twice watching it.
