"The company’s site reveals that a restored and remastered PHANTASM boxed set is also on the way, along with a (much-needed) new DVD release of Russell Mulcahy’s RAZORBACK and other notable fear fare"

YES!!!

Anchor Bay UK has really been putting out some good stuff. The Hellraiser cube, the Halloween 8-Disc set, even Children of the Corn got deluxe treatment.

I'm bummed about"Blood on Satan's Claw". I already own it - now they're putting it out again. Reissues happen all the time, but this single disc is new, and there was no mention of what they were going to do.

As for the set - looks VERY cool. Although - the coffins they pack them in SUCK SUCK SUCK. The Amicus set was crap because thwe discs fell off the spindles and got scratched. They next coffin, Normal Warren, had complaints that discs were loose when they arrived, and when they weren't, people were cracking the center of the discs trying to get the out!!!

THEN - they have the Helraiser set - that "wonderul" cube. With that one, they mispressed the label on disc one, and it throw off the balance of the disc, making it noisy and with freezes on many players.

In other words - AB UK have had issues with their fancy packaging. What the hell is wrong with AMARAYS and digipacs for goodness sakes? Pity, the films and sets are compelling, but AB UK need to calm down with the packaging already.

There has been some discussion around the packaging on the site, but the general reply was: "The discs are cheap, so stop complaining"

Hmmm. I have the cube, but I've yet to open her up.

It's that way in the Digipack case version of the Hellraiser set also. The 2nd disc in The Unnamable 2-DVD set also has a misalinged label on that disc.

I've read some not so good things about AB-UK's releases. Besides the oft griped about coffin for the Amicus set,I heard that material was missing from DR. TERROR and that THE BEAST MUST DIE,while listed as widescreen was really full frame.Anyone out there have this set who can comment on the criticisms/quality.I love the films, but would hate to spring for a bum set.
The Tigon set sounds cool,by the way.I wish someone would take a stab at releasing a restored CORRUPTION with Peter Cushing.

Beat Must Die is full frame, but I was VERY happy with the Amicus Box set. None of the discs were loose when I got it. I also didn't have any problems with the labels throwing the discs off in the Hellraiser box set.

I have no complaints with Anchor Bay UK.

I am really excited about the Norman J. Warren boxset, all the Warren films have been given such shoddy treatment here...except for Inseminoid which was a decent disc from Elite.

I also have the AMicus set. They "fixed" the coffin for that one, but it depends if you get an early one, or a late one. Mine is an early one, and the spindles are so lame, the discs fall off and rattle around just pulling the thing off the shelf! Really really lame.

I asked if I could it swapped out recently, but was told it was sold out - so no way. THe coffin as it stands is BS. They "fixed" it again for the Warren set, and now there are people breaking the center of the DVD getting them out!

The Amicus box is cool though - other than The Beast. Not only is it full frame, itäs GREEN. Definatelty not a pristine print, regardless of the OAR. Still, the other films are (mostly) marvellous, and the extras are cool.

The Warren set is getting mostly thumbs up - apparently some of the prints are not great though.

I can't wait for the Pete Walker Box Set, should be pretty sweet.

House Of Whipcord from Image is an awful mess, one of the worst looking DVD's I've seen, so I hope AB UK do a good job with it. It is one of my favorite Walker films.

Image has made a mess of more than one DVD.I paid like 40 bucks for Twitch of the Death Nerve and could barely here it.The audio was terrible.I was going to take it back because I thought I had a faulty DVD.
