Mr. Roger's Neighborhood may not be your or my cup of tea, but I believe it qualifies as "cult" about as much as any other TV show.

They will probably be barebones editions with the special 2 and 3 disc sets coming later on. These will include uncut/unrated editions as well as soundtrack cds, documentaries and behind the scenes footage, including some very revealing facts about the land of make believe.

But will they have the "freezeframe" intact?

I say this is one of the most anticipated release next to the Giallo box set!

mmmm...Meow meow Mr. Rogers meow...
They ought to have nude shots of that weirdo from the museum...Lady Elaine was it?
As much of a dork that I thought Mr. Rogers was as a child, I have to say there's an inherent sweetness to his show, and I think the message and ideals that he tried to instill in children were some of the best and well-meant of anything I've ever seen. To try and make people feel special and important, and that they could do anything they wanted was a very noble thing, and I have to say, even though I watched his show to get a laugh (when I was part of his target audience), I cried pretty hard when he passed away recently. Those puppets though....that's another story. Each one more irritating then the next. I had dreams of blowing that goddamned Lady Elaine away, of strangling that annoying cat, and dissecting the freak that was Elsie Jean Platypus (or whatever her name was).... |

I'm sticking with the German box I already have. Its simply called Mr. Rogers Fucks Some Kids. And yes, its 16x9 and uncut (although he isn't).

Fred Rogers was an innovative, groundbreaking figure of children's programming, and of television in general. In addition to his television work, he did a lot for people off screen as well. It was a sad day for many when he passed away two years ago. Y'all can make all the jokes you want, and I'll even laugh with you, especially when Eddie Murphy's 'Mr. Robinson' comes up, but I have much respect for Mr. Rogers.
It does seem odd however that AB is putting these out. |

I love Mr. Rogers. He was a mainstay of my TV watching as a child.

Mr. Rogers rocks! I used to watch him all the time when I was a kid, I like that little song he sings at the beginning, they need a big fat boxset of all the episodes of this, probably take about 200 dvd's to put them all on though
