American Movie

I did a search for this here, and found nothing.

Any of the aspiring horror filmmakers really need to see this movie. It's a documentary about the making of "Coven", a 35-minute horror film from Wisconsin. Now, I honestly thought it was a mockumentary, along the lines of Spinal Tap, but the DVD release includes Coven in it's entirety, and I realized that these guys are serious filmmakers!

Pick it up if you get a chance

I love this film...Mark Borchardt is so inept is great.

He has drive but no organizational skills. If you check the imdb they still list Northwestern (under a different name now) as an upcoming film.

Great movie. I had blindly rented it a few years ago, thinking it was a fictional movie about a couple of slackers making a horror film, then realized it was a documentary. Highly recommeded.

It was definitely an entertaining film, whether or not you're a horror fan. The short isn't that great. The making of the short is great!

This is an amazing movie, and I think it was my first "blind buy" DVD when I used to be super careful with my purchases. But it was $30 at Suncoast, so I have no idea where my logic fit in.

Coven is indeed terrible, but the documentary is so damn good I don't even care. For me, it isn't even about the movie. It's a slice of life, showing you the determination and obvious faults that so many of us have.

I couldn't help but laugh and cry at the same time. Great film, really gives you self reflection.

I saw this when it first came out on video, and have seen it numerous times since. Very very good documentary and very insigful and inspirational. Mark and Mike rule! Also, go to www.zerotv.com to watch the Mark and Mike show! Also, Mark's "I Blow Up" film is on www.zerotv.com!

I just got done watching this movie and enjoyed it just as much as the first four or so times I've seen it. Like someone else said, it's very inspirational, yet very funny. Highly recommended.
