Talking Near Dark

Can anyone tell me why HBO has not yet released this classic film by director Kathryn Bigelow on DVD yet? This has to be the finest hour for just about everyone involved...and yet still no release.

Because unless your a fan of horror films, most people have never even heard of Near Dark(sad to say). HBO has several films in their vault I wish they would release, Near Dark sitting at the top of the list.

Unhappy HBO or De Laurentiis

When this film was released in the US, wasn't it distributed by the now defunct De Laurentiis Entertainment Group. I only know this because I once owned the Varese Sarabande CD of Tangerine Dream's score and I saw a trailer for the film on New World's VHS release of HELLRAISER. Being a DEG release couldn't AB put out the DVD like they did with RAW DEAL, MANHUNTER, MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE etc.
