Fucking A! I can't wait for ED 4 to get rolling. I'm glad that Sam hasn't totally lost it. Seeing the operation scene in Spidey 2 with Doc Ock and the camera zoom of the tentacles as they search for its victim and the inclusion of a chainsaw brought back memories of the ED series and the pains of wanting another installment. Also, its good to hear that Ash will be played by Bruce because lets face it, he's the king.
As far as the remake goes, I'll probably see it just to see how well it pulls off the similarities and differences from the original 2 movies.

I'm sure ED4 will continue from the S-Mart ending considering that's the one everyone has seen.
And yes Thrashard, the OR scene in Spider Man 2 kicked ass. |

i always thought the s-mart ending was an ending they made only after they decided there wasn't going to be another ED movie... so if theyre making a 4th i'd have assumed they'd use the future one..
as for thrashard's comments about the remake.. I dont think anything is certain about the remake.. i think theyre trying to get a new perspective on the franchise so i don't think they'll follow part 1 and 2 that closely.. |

I'm going to have to wait and see when more info comes out. Army of Darkness was pretty bad, imo. It was a wannabe Python film with all the best jokes taken out. For me, it was just another example of a franchise burning out in horrible ways.
Still, there's no real information yet. To grab me, they're going to have to inject some horror between the humor and silly one-liners. |

It's wierd. I feel the S-Mart Ending goes better with the whole overall mood of AOD, but if they had to make a 4th I'd suggest using the original.

9 pages? Isn't that about as long as the first ED script?

"It's still early days for the project then, but if you run into Ivan Raimi, it's well worth forcing him onto a plane to Michigan."
Why force him onto a plane to Michigan? He already lives here, a few miles away. I'm probably going to see him and his wife in a few weeks at a Bhat Mitzvah. I'll ask him about it... |

I'm not sure how I feel about an Evil Dead 4. I was VERY let down by Army of Darkness (yes I know, that is blasphemy to some) with it's lack of gore and 3 stooges antics. I really like the first film and can enjoy the horror/comedy combo mix of part 2, but AoD just killed it for me. I met Sam and Bruce at a Fango convention in Detroit years ago and Mr. Raimi made it a point to ask the fans in a Q&A what they wanted to see in the next Evil Dead installment. The resounding answer was "more gore"!! Obviously it fell on deaf ears.
My hopes are high for this but my expectations are very low.

Unfortunately, I agree about AOD.
I LOVE Evil Dead 1 and enjoy Evil Dead 2, but AOD was really....extremely...disappointing. If they do make an Evil Dead 4, I really hope it's a return to his roots of Evil Dead 1. |

Times have changed, there was a time when the first Evil Dead was banned in the UK for a while, obviously gore and blood was being kept policed after a while, but with horror this decade, the Saw films going all out to get under your skin, R rated gore is all there now, Evil Dead can be whatever it needs to be. One of the reason the fanchise went less hardcore blood was bascially the industry went too soft, but it's now it's back to taking risks again, thanks to the saw films and dawn of the dead remake success, and this new horror success period.
