Seriously, what an astounding decade. The best so far in these polls. I had to go with what I feel is one of the ten best movies ever made, Wes Craven's "A Nightmare on Elm St."

But I have to say there are two particularly close runner-up.

Neil Jordan's "The Company of Wolves"
Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining"

and of course, all of that great work by Abel Ferrara, Dario Argento, David Cronenberg, George Romero, and John Carpenter.

awesome choice, and I also can't get enough of this film.

Another amazing 80's horror flick is "The Stepfather" by Joseph Ruben.

Have to go with The Shining - which happens to be my second favorite horror film of all time.

Evil Dead 2 because that is my favorite movie ever. That said, most of that list is pretty sweet. Makes me want to fire up some 80s horror soon.

All are great. I vote for Hellraiser, simply because it's one of the few films to ever truly scare the shit out of me.

Really solid Decade. With the Shining Leading the way for me followed by Evil Dead as two films that should crack anyone's top 10 list.

Out of the choices listed, Kubrick's The Shining. Otherwise I'd choose Carpenter's The Fog.
