VERY tough call, there were some terrific choices. In a pinch,I'd go with NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD,it's influence on the genre was enormous.Of course,so was PSYCHO's,another hot contender.Glad to see a lot of the Euro stuff is in the mix,and a big shoutout to THE DEVIL RIDES OUT,a great film from a company that changed the genre forever.

The Innocents
Is everyone forgetting The Innocents starring Deborah Kerr? Even Michael Weldon called it "the best horror film EVER made".

"Psycho" ... not only the best horror film of the 60's ... but still the best horror film of all-time!

Guess i'm the lone ranger, but I swear Bava's Black Sabbath remains one of my all time favorite horror films, 60's, 70's, 80's -- it's that good. Great competition though...

Rosemary's Baby for me. Very close behind are The Haunting, Night of the Living Dead, and Psycho.

Rosemary's Baby. No matter how many times I watch that movie I am beyond enthralled, beyond fascinated. It's one of the greatest cinematic enigmas ever made. And has not lost 1 ounce of its excellence over the years. Even if it's so '60s.
