new PROM NIGHT region 2 DVD July 11

I noticed a new PROM NIGHT DVD released in the UK on July 11th. Anyone located more info or a review? There is a region 4 DVD of this as well released on the same date listed as anamorphic 1.85:1, so I assume the UK disc will be similar.

Does anyone have the Region 4? If so, how much better is the transfer than the AB disc? I still can't believe AB didn't make this a special edition when they had a chance.

Does Anchor Bay not own the distribution rights to Prom Night anymore? Whoever owns the rights to this movie, put it out on dvd now!! I need to complete my Jamie Lee Curtis slasher collection

There's a cheapo disc (from Diamond I think) that I see at Best Buy from time to time. Check the cheap bin there, although it's FF and I hear looks like shit, it's a dvd. The BB in my neck of the woods usually puts it in the horror section, but other BB's put it in the cheap bin/rack.

I just got the Prom Night DVD from Deep Discount during the June sale. It's put out by Platinum Disc Corporation and it looks like shit. It is full frame and many of the night scenes are so dark it is difficult to even see what's happening on screen. And to top it all off, Platinum opted to use a photo on the cover of Jamie Lee Curtis taken directly from Halloween H20. Go figure.

They'll probably wait until the remake hits theatres to release a special edition. I know I can wait as there are plenty of other movies I need to buy first.

I'll double-dip when the inevitable SE is released, until then I'll keep my old Anchor Bay disc. The trailer is SO classic!!!

Same here. I also like Anchor Bay's menu - little clips of the film play in the side of the screen. It's cool because back then, AB usually only did static menus.

Avoid the Region 4:

It appears that the UK disc is identical. This is just an assumption, but same runtime and release date. No extras on either.

The review was pretty negative on the film itsself. The source photography was always dull looking, but if this looks like an anamorphic version of the AB USA disc Iwould be interested.

I believe the UK DVD has the trailer on it. It says so on Amazon UK. It could be wrong, but I believe it does have at least a trailer on it. The cover art looks great as well, but I wanna know if the video quality is an improvement over the AB DVD. (The print, although a large improvement over VHS versions, still has some scenes of EXTREME high grain. The shot of the killer's feet before he kills Kelly is so grainy, you can hardly tell what you're watching.) According to the R4 reivew, it's not much better. Until I get more info on the R2 release, I'm sticking with my AB DVD of Prom Night.

Put out several months back... Swedish release. Not sure about this either, could be exactly the same as the other two:
