Lunch Meat

Just won an auction for this title on ebay. I remember the box artwork from when I was a kid, but I never saw the movie. Being a collector of rare horror flicks, I figured I'd check it out (since it's pretty rare). Has anyone seen this flick? The VHS box has a bald, brute lookin' lumberjack sorta guy eating from a bloody arm.

I can't imagine it being very good. So, in my search for rare horror...what have I gotten myself into?

A pile of crap.

Maybe.

I bought a el cheapo Video Treasures (remember them?) VHS back in the late 80's that was Lunch Meat, but its cover art consisted of only a raised fork drenched in fresh blood.

Could be the same movie. Probably is the same movie. However, I'm not 100% sure.

If it is the same movie...well, I paid for it and never finished it. Hopefully, you have a different movie altogether.

At any rate, here is a review of somebody's Lunch Meat:

I remember renting it many, many years ago, and I remember practically nothing about the movie. It must not have been very good!

The video you're thinking of is THE MEATEATER...which, coincidentally, I also recently won from eBay.

Lunch Meat and The Meateater together has the makings to be either the greatest double feature in the world...or quite possibly the worst.

Ahhh, The Meateater. I too bought the VHS off ebay sometime last year. I think I actually won it for a whopping penny! It was a movie which I had rented years before and for some reason stuck in my brain. The acting is just terrible beyond words, and the "G" rated-only theater in the movie is just hilarious!

Well, it looks the same.....

...but for some reason, the plot details in the reviews for it don't come close to what I remember seeing. I don't remember anything about a theater. I just remember a bunch of cheap nasty backwoods villians in a rural setting.

Now, I know what you're saying. You're like "But c'mon man...how many video boxes had a raised fork drenched in blood for their cover art?!? The fork man! Don't forget the fork!!!"

And I agree. It's just that I was happy when you corrected me.....because it brought back some nostalgic moments.....and then I discovered that I was even more confused with more knowledge than I was when I knew nothing.

Did what I type even make sense?

Well, at least you have both films now. You will not be going through the mental torture that I am now.

*sounds of brain squishing as giant vise on head is being tightened ever-so-slowly*

Oh yeah! I mean, just to see a marquee with those titles sandwiched together would be priceless!

You're thinking of a different movie then. The Meateater is like a cross between a generic slasher and Phantom of the Opera.
