Aftermath DVD banned by U.S retailers

http://www.fangoria.com/news_article.php?id=4369

I would like to see this, but don't know if it's band in Canada or not.

I've seen bits and pieces of Aftermath on the Belly of the Beast docu on The Manson Family DVD disc 2. They talk about Naco's film, and with a bunch of Canadian and American filmmakers making movies and shorts that push the limits and are extremely hard to sell to get grants, distro, ect.

I'm hoping that perhaps I'll get my grubby hands on a copy at the upcoming Flashback Weekend. I read about these in the latest Rue Morgue and I gotta check them out.

How incredibly lame. I figured I'd have the best luck getting this one online anyway, but that's just pathetic.

When will they ever learn that "banning" a retail item usually leads to bigger sales. I'd think this is good news for Unearthed Films. Gnagi?

True. To be honest, this wasn't on my radar. Until now.

This is the first I've heard about this movie....I know what I'll be ordering on Aug 23rd. This looks like a good blind buy.

I've been waiting on this disc for a long while. I noticed DiabolikDVD put this up for preorder a little while ago, if anyone is interested. It looks like there is going to be an "independant retailer" version cover, like Flower of Flesh and Blood had.

I pretty much do all my DVD shopping online anyhow, so this dosen't really phase me, but it still is a surprise, since like the article pointed out, the Guinea Pig films were available in Best Buy.

Awesome movie. Rue Morgue had a screening here in Toronto and some people actually fainted. Amateurs...

Am I mistaken or is this a "short" film, as in not 80+ minutes?

Very good film, though I believe the impact I experianced was lessened by the fact that I viewed Stan Brakhage's The Act Of Seeing With One's Own Eyes a few days before being caught up with Aftermath.

I suppose the retailers carried the Guinea Pig Set because even though the first two films were pseudo-snuff efforts the rest of the series has nothing to do with that aesthetic.

Then again, I don't remember seeing Nekromantik in chain stores either.

Same here.
I have a tape of Aftermath. I think it's really good. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Cerda's work. The tape I have has some other short on it...I think from his film class or something. August 23rd, eh? Nice.
