Yes please!
Perhaps you're able to post some screengrabs?

Here's my report on the BLOODSTAINED BUTTERFLY DVD.....

This has always been a favorite giallo of mine. Heavy on police procedure and light on the violence, it is nonetheless completely engaging. The jazzy-smooth score compliments the film nicely.

The DVD is definitely 2.35, NOT 1.85 as the package suggests. There is light speckling and some lines on the print, but not too bad. Picture is sharp and colors are vibrant. I felt like I was seeing it for the first time again.
I had no problem turning off the subtitles.

Here's some problems.....

At around the 30 minute mark the audio cuts in volume. I had to turn up my stereo. The DVD is presented in mono and sounds OK at best. At the 1 hour mark the volume snaps back and I had to lower my stereo. This was mildly irritating.
At about the 1 hour 9 minute mark i noticed a strange cut. I got my old Luminous VHS and compared. there is some footage missing on the DVD!
A woman is walking in the park. A hand comes out and covers her mouth. Flash of a switchblade and CUT to a character nervously drinking coffee.
On the VHS the switchblade cuts to a shot of a newspaper headline and slowly snakes around the coffee pot, which is poured.
not essential footage, but you will notice the cut.
I'm not sure if any other shots are missing.

the running time listed on the DVD is 92 min. actual time in PAL is 89 and a half minutes.

My final thoughts...

If you are like me and must have every giallo on DVD right away, and you are a fan of THE BLOODSTAINED BUTTERFLY, then I recommend this DVD. you will be amazed at the improvement in picture quality from any previous bootleg. It's likely this will surface on region 1 DVD someday, so if you are just a casual giallo fan, then I would wait. This is not what I would call the definitive release.

For now I am happy to have seen it again in this quality and I'm satisfied with this Spanish DVD from Manga.

I'll wait for a better release.I love Gialli, good and bad.But I can't afford double (or even triple) dipping on all of them.
Is there anywhere on the web a comparison between the Medusa disc and this one?
Does the Medusa disc have those cuts?

Yeah, it sounds like it might be wiser to wait, I'm sure NoShame or Blue Underground will pick this title up sooner or later...

Here's a new review:
http://cinema-nocturna.com/bloodstai...fly_review.htm

Quote:
The Manga Films Spanish DVD release has it fare share of problems. The first being that of an audio problem where the audio is very low until more then halfway through the feature where it raises. There is also a problem with the Spanish subtitles, though they are initially forced, there is a way to remove them, ....*snap!*.... the overall disc isn’t too bad.......*snap!*......The print is actual very nice presented in a 2.35:1 ratio wide screen in English audio. The print has been restored quite nicely but from what I understand it’s much better to go with the Italian release from Medusa in that case, only if you know your Italian.
This and the screenshots are enough for me to know I'll wait for a better release.
Gialli on DVD seem hot these days,so another company might pick it up soon.

Well..not soon but here it is!:

http://shop.dtm.at/advanced_search_r...+park&x=20&y=5

By a company named Eyecatcher (a daughter of NEW from Germany?)
This is the uncut version,Anamorphic 2.35:1,with both English and Italian language options.
Also English subs available!
Probably the same print as the Italian DVD.

Now my Giallo collection is really getting completed bit by bit
My Giallo nerve is twitching again!

Watched it last night. A nice but mediocre thriller / Giallo. Some twists but too much talk IMO. Still it was very stylish and perhaps I'll have to watch it again to appreciate this one more.
Helmut Berger (Beast With a Gun) steals the show here.

I watched the Eyecatcher release which probably is a bootleg so I hope another release will surface in the future.
Recommended to Giallo completists only I'm afraid.

Revisiting this one some time ago indeed made me appreciate it more. Actually, it's very nice Giallo, and the talking isn't as bad as I pointed out earlier.
One question though, why do men in Italian films always have to run like girls? Is it the shoes? Nah, just kidding.. sorta.

Picked this up last year and I gotta say I also enjoyed the movie a lot more the second time I watched it as well. The first time around I thought it as just OK because found myself a little bored with parts of it but, surprisingly, this was not the case the second time.

I have a boot leg video of this. Extremely talky and very boring. While the film is a visual treat it sucks.

Good luck. I couldn't find any online. The only one I found on an auction site, went for € 60 (which is around $80)
