Funny thing is that The Rock's character is not really the main guy. But yet its marketed that way.
From what I hear people say its pretty good, kinda a Resident Evil quality. |

It's weird. Every time I see the trailer for this movie, I keep thinking it looks like a Uwe Boll film.
I won't be seeing it in theatres, but I'll probably watch it on TMN or maybe even rent it. |

I had a chance to go to a screener last Wednesday because of my work, but decided not to. A co-worker went however and said it was "retardedly awsome". Now the credibility of someone who uses 'retardedly awsome' as a descriptive, questionable.....but made me interested none the less

The reviews I've read have not been incredibly possitive as far as the overall plot and script as a whole go, but that the action is very great and the first person scene is awesome. I'd say this is def. a movie I will enjoy as a guilty pleasure type of thing, like Resident Evil.

I don't care if the advance reviews have been positive or not. I'm still going to see it. I like The Rock. He makes movies fun even if the plot is light (e.g. Walking Tall). The movie itself looks cool enough in previews and knowing Winston did all the effects already sold me on seeing this. I'll post my thoughts after I get a chance to watch it.

I'm probably going to go tomorrow because I haven't seen a movie in the theatres since Venom (I'm one of the proud 10 or so that saw and fairly enjoyed it), and I feel like seeing a flick as a warmup to Saw 2 next weekend. I'm not expecting that much, but I do like the Rock and think it might be decently gory if nothing else. i don't know much about the game as I have too much trouble figuring out these new games with all of the codes and puzzles to figure out to get to the action. I'm an atari child who last got into gaming in college with the sega genesis system.

hey guys sorry to report back so late. I was getting on my Madden 06 on.
Well I went to see it and I actually enjoyed it. Not scary at all. Monsters were ok. Shit load of zombies. It really did remind me of resident evil type move. If you like RE... check this out. You will not be dissapointed. And yes THE ROCK is the main character.

Definitely better than Resident Evil, but you're still better off watching a recorded play through of either the pc or Xbox version of Doom 3. Both versions are far scarier and evil than this movie.

I thought it was solid brainless fun, and agree that it was not in the least bit scary. It did have some decent gore, and was not thankfully overloaded with CGI. On a side note, I went to the 1:50 showing today and showed up around 10 minutes late. When I arrived in the theatre, I was surprised to se that the movie was already going, as the commercials and previews are always good for at least 10-15 minutes. Afeter sitting there for a few minutes, it became clear to me that the movie seemed to be a good way into the action. I walked out and saw that they had sold me a ticket to the 1:00 show! Glancing around, I saw another theatre with a 2:40 Doom and another that was halfway through a showing of The Fog. I decided to kill the time before the next Doom showing catching the second half of Fog. For a little while, despite the heavy CGI, I thought the harsh reviews here were a little off base, By the time it stumbled to its absolutley pathetic "romantic" twist ending conclusion, I was dumbfounded by how terrible it turned out to be. Thankfully I didn't pay for the "pleasure" of watching this abomination! I hope Carpenter at least is laughing all the way to the bank at this defiling of his movie.

Why did I just get the ending of The Fog spoiled for me in the Doom thread? Spoiler tags are your friend.
