I still can't believe this is happening! I am prepared to hear that many of the shows won't be able to be cleared. If they are able to be cleared, will this pave the way for Monstervision releases?!

Yes, that's the same movie. It was called PIGS on TV and considering that Kat has informed us that the DVD is indeed the edited TV version, I guess we can expect more of the same from Elvira's version.

Which would make sense, as that's the version that aired on "Movie Macabre."

I'm perfectly willing to settle for cut TV prints, as I'm used to it by this point with the similar MST3K sets. Granted, I'm disappointed that the idea of having the "hosted" version on one side and the original version on the other )(like the first MST3K set) wasn't made standard, as that's what these releases would probably follow, but I'm just as excited to have the films in the way I saw them when I was first exposed to them--cut, and with interruptions from a large-boobed goth vixen.

Anchor Bay UK is apparently going to release it. This is the cover, and click the link for the specs in their website:

Looks like a barebones DVD. Movie is in OAR and has nice audio features, though. But that's something common for ABUK, right? To give DTS, 5.1, etc. to their releases even when lots of them don't require it.

Sorry, guys ... I was just trying to throw some light to it but I missed the real objective.

And Z, I don't know why but *something* tells me that you and Crystal Plumage are the same person. Anyone else has the same feeling about this ?

From tvshowsondvd.com:

Last December the news came to light that Elvira's Movie Macabre series would come to DVD at long last in the Fall 2006 timeframe. Now we have the word from Shout! Factory about the first pile of releases from this spooky show that parodies cheesy horrible-but-fun B-flicks!

September 19th will see the release of the following 6 DVDs, sold seperately for $9.99 SRP each:

Elvira's Movie Macabre- Count Dracula's Great Love
Elvira's Movie Macabre- Devil's Wedding Night
Elvira's Movie Macabre- Doomsday Machine
Elvira's Movie Macabre- Frankenstein's Castle of Freaks
Elvira's Movie Macabre- Legacy of Blood
Elvira's Movie Macabre- Werewolf of Washington

Or, as an alternative, on the same day there will be three different "2-packs" that combine the above in this way, for $14.95 each.

Elvira's Movie Macabre- Doomsday Machine/Werewolf of Washington
Elvira's Movie Macabre- Frankenstein's Castle of Freaks/Count Dracula's Great Love
Elvira's Movie Macabre- Legacy of Blood/Devil's Wedding Night

None of those are my favorites, but alas, I am still very excited about getting them. I didn't think we would ever get a single episode on DVD. Still, I guess we likely won't see some of her best, like her "Let's Scare Jessica to Death" episode, ever, what with some of them getting proper dvd releases now and all. Maybe there's still hope for So Sad About Gloria. Maybe. I want that one so bad.

Ahem...does Elvira ever get nekkid? I never really got to see many of her films or tv hostings, but I assumed what I was seeing was always cut. Was she ever nude, or was it always all about the tease?

Well they should be Full Frame transfers as these aired on TV. As long as they look like early-80's broadcast quality, I'll be perfectly fine with it.
