Werewolf Hunter: The Legend Of Romasanta

Based on the true story of Manuel Romasanta (Julian Sands), a Spanish serial killer who murdered 15 people between 1847-1851. He believed he was a werewolf, and drained his victims body fat to make soap...

From Brian Yuzna's Filmax studios, 60% drama, 40% horror, well-acted with a few suspenseful moments and lots of gory wounds. I thought this film wasn't bad plus, it was nice to see Julian Sands again.

More stuff to expect:

4 Dead wolves
2 Dead birds
1 Dead pig
1 Autopsy
1 Silver Bullet
Acupuncture
Nude running through the forest
Silver-Knife-fu
Kinky-Soap-fu
Spoiler:
One cool old school non-CGI werewolf transformation

From Lions Gate. Anamorphic Widescreen (1.85:1), DD 5.1 Audio. No extras except trailers for Undead, Desperate Souls, The Mangler: Reborn, GhostWatcher II, Ginger Snaps Back, Saw II.

Worth checking out

A favorite pastime of werewolves, no doubt.

This movie wasn't bad, but it was marketed as a horror movie when it was more of a psychological thriller. Even the title Werewolf Hunter is completely misleading.

I wasn't sure about this when I read the synopsis on Amazon. But then I read one elsewhere and now the one in this thread and I think I'll check this sucker out. Thanks for the heads up.

Did a little online research and found out the Spanish DVD pretty much kicks ass:

2-disc (!) Special Edition

Audio: English 5.1
Video: Anamorphic 2.35:1 Widescreen (!) Lions Gate screwed us with 1.85:1, those bastards!

Disc 2 has nearly 2 hours of bonus material including Deleted Scenes, making-of etc.
