Cool Martino's Morte Sospetta di una Minorenne/Suspected Death of a Minor

Yep some Giallo-esque (it's a hybrid) news again .
Sergio Martino's long lost Giallo finally gets a DVD release!

Will be released by Sazuma:
http://www.sazuma.com/productions/

Quote:
Almost a year has passed since our Subconscious Cruelty: Deluxe Edition has been released. But we weren’t lazy in the meantime. We came up with a concept for an entire batch of new titles which will be known as the “Italian Genre Cinema Collection“.
The first film in this series will be the rare and long sought-after 1975 Sergio Martino effort Morte Sospetta di una Minorenne aka Suspected Death of a Minor aka Too Young to Die – the perfect film to kick off a high-quality collection of Italian genre classics as it is a crossover of two of the most popular Italian genres from the 60s/70s, the giallo and the poliziesco.

As all future releases within the collection, Morte Sospetta will be transferred from its original negative into a great-looking 2.35:1 anamorphic DVD-master. Bonus features are still TBA, but we’re trying hard to come up with some interesting extras – not only for the first entry in the collection but all future titles as well.

Best possible quality will be our main objective for the collection. Apart from the perfection in specs and features, we put much thought in the packaging: Each title will arrive in a numbered digipak which will feature the same basic design (see screenshot for an unfinished layout screenshot of the back cover, incomplete with pictures from a different film and temp text) so that the entire collection will look real neat on your shelf. The only difference between the titles will be the original poster artwork on the front and the colored stripes, which are coming in a different shade for each genre: Gialli will be yellow (sure thing), a poliziesco is green, horror red, and erotic titles will be blue.

As this is only the collection’s first title, be sure to visit this space from time to time as all news regarding a specific title as well as the entire collection will be posted here.
Here are some first edition details:
  • 2.35:1, 16:9 Anamorphic Widescreen
  • English and Italian Language in Dolby Digital Mono
  • English, German and Dutch Subtitles
  • Bonus Features TBA

Yes DD,I know and here's that banana again:

This kicks ass.

I will refrain from using my saying ...only this once though.

Great stuff. I just hope that the film itself is good, and priced very nicely.

This is good news! Bring it on!

But isn't that "Cool Guy" George Hilton on one of the pictures on the back (out of "The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh")?

I think so.

That i think is a promo sheet for the dvd.

It just shows other films of Sergio Martino's.

Yeah, seems like this isn't the final version of the backcover as the text is in Latin (!).
The cover looks cool, though, and from what I've heard the movie should be pretty good.

What's your problem with Sazuma Luna?

Anyone preordered yet?
I have second thoughts about this one. It's part comedy and that's what's the problem.
I've seen some caps (bootleg,NOT the Sazuma disc!) over at Maniacs and I'm totally put off by it!
Here they are:

Hmm, odd...
But most of the people over on that board seem to really enjoy it. Martino didn't like to stick to a particular formula with this one but maybe that's just what makes the flick's charms.
So, I'll wait for some reviews.

Your user name is that of a Giallo, you're a euro freak, and you constantly talk about these films. What other insentive do you need to buy it? A bit of comedy never killed a giallo - Deep Red had plenty.

But that was on a totally different level.
Still you're right.I mustn't moan.In fact it's really cool to see these flicks get a release in the first place.

Sazuma Release Dates and News

Due to problems regarding the quality of the negatives we are forced to postpone the release date of the recently announced DVD of Sergio Martino’s “Morte Sospetta di una Minorenne” aka “Suspected Death of a Minor”. The DVD will be the first instalment of sazuma’s “Italian Genre Cinema Collection”. Aside from restoring the negatives, we are now forced to enhance the picture digitally and do some color corrections. During this time, we will try to locate more extra materials for the DVD. Please note that due to issues with the licensor, we can not as initially announced, include the English audio track. The new, now definitive release date for “Morte Sospetta di una Minorenne” will be September the 10th of 2006. PAL Region Code 2, SSRP: $29.95

Moreover, we have announced that No. 2 of sazuma’s “Italian Genre Cinema Collection” will be Franco Prosperi’s “La Settima Donna” aka “The Last House on the Beach” aka “Verflucht zum Töten”. With a release date of October, the 23rd of 2006 it was now possible to acquire the rights to the original soundtrack which will be included as a separate audio-CD in the DVD package. Final cover artwork and a more detailed list of extras will be announced in the coming weeks! PAL, Region Code 2, SSRP: $34.95

If they can't include the English language version, I'm not sure I'd call it the "definitive release" :/
