H.R. Puf'n'stuf has died.

"Word from Mark Evanier that writer/actor Lennie Weinrib has died at his home in Chile. His career as a voice and character actor, lots of cartoons, spanned 4 decades from the early '60's to the '90's. He was also a prolific writer, penning all the episodes of "H. R. Pufnstuf." He was also the voice of HRP.

Very few photos on a Google search but his face is instantly recognizable as a character actor in dozens of '60's & '70's TV series.

TV Trivia: Lennie was the only person to be rescued three times in one show of "Emergency". (1972) playing "Fred Gibson" in episode: "The Firehouse Four."

He was the voice of Scappy-Doo. Knowing this now, I oddly don't feel as bad.

He was also the voice of the singing little yellow blob that said "I hanker for a hunk-a cheese!"

Okay, now I'm bummed again.

although I was never a fan of HR Pufnstufnufn (or any of the Krofft stuff, actually), I'd take a marathon of that show versus anything with Scrappy Doo.R.I.P.

I actually liked Scrappy Doo when I was younger. I would still watch all of those shows today if they were on. I don't like today's cartoons . When I get a job (soon I hope) I am going to first purchase all of the Transformers seasons, and then several other ones. Does anyone remember Swat Catz? That show was kickass. Not that it has anything to do with PnS.
