Leeches

Ouch - anyone seen this one? I caught it tonight - and then I threw it back. I struggle to find a single good thing to say about it. Bad bad bad. You can find my review at this place - under L

This one is really bad. I'm really bumed after seeing Slugs and Ticks. Come on, somone say something good about this one!

Here's a snippet:

"In summary, Leeches is a complete and utter waste of time. Clearly it did not start a new subgenre of sock puppet movies, and no socks from this film went on to star in other films about leeches, or anything else. Everyone lost out. Even the young muscle bound men likely didn't attract the kind of attention they were after - maybe they even got the wrong kind - or maybe it's the right kind - hell if I know.

All I do know is, I went into this one wanting leeches, killer leeches that sucked the blood from helpless victims. What I got was socks. Lots and lots of socks. Socks being dragged around by invisible string. And that gooey slime used in every film that needs to show that a monster has passed through. And lots of half naked men. This was not what I wanted. So Leeches gets a big fat zero. This film made me want to pull my socks off and put on my Jesus sandals, and we know how everyone hates that!
Although it did make me wonder what the filmmakers could do with oven mitts.

So you're saying there's a movie about killer sock leeches out there and I haven't seen it?

Funny,I always figured you as someone who wears white socks with your sandals.
Leeches was a total turd.It wasn't even fun in a cheesy way.The naked men were more horrifying then the leeches.

Ticks is the one with Seth Green ain't it? I actually dug that flick!!! The 80s Slugs was so-so. Just looking at the cover of Leeches at Cockbuster makes it look like sh*t...I'll pass!

It's a recent David DeCoteau film, so of course it's B-A-D. He's one of those directors who actually seems to get worse with every film he directs.

If he'd lay off the long "Oooo, male muscles and butts" crap and the trendy acting actors, he might actually get a decent film out again.

Now that's just mean

No sandals for me, I'm afraid. How comes you people knew al about this guy and I didn't? Clearly I wandered blindly into a train wreck when you all know better. A warning would be apreciated in the future

I never made it past the first 5 minute scene of the wet guy in the swim trunks getting out of the swimming pool in slow motion. I think that was the opening credits.

I LOVED Slugs!! It's a terrible movie, for sure, but it just screams to be loved, from the old bat in the greenhouse and her husband who thankfully get blown to smithereens (weren't they named something obvious like Harold and Ethel?) to the same rotten face dummy used for both slug eaten corpses (one man, one woman) to the cute lil' slug face with eyes and teeth...

Ticks was entertaining.

Leeches, however, can go to hell. While I do think that the male exposure is just equal opportunity sexism, I thought it was annoyingly over-obvious. The leeches themselves were really bad. At least, if I remember correctly, doesn't everyone get killed?

I want to see this just for the hot guys. I read about this somewhere else on a gay message board haha. I never wanted to rent it because the cover of the DVD shows a really fake looking CG leech if I remember correctly.

They're glove puppets, honestly. It's someones hands rubbing up against these young boys. Check out the movie and you'll see what I mean.
