Anthologies

What is your favorite anthology film? I love almost all anthology films, as they are all just so damn good! As for my favorite, I was gonna go with TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE MOVIE, but then I remembered the spectacular DEAD OF NIGHT ( the 1945 one), so I had to go with it. All the stories were great, and it has one hell of an ending too!

Now, I think LOVER'S VOW, the gargoyle story from TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE MOVIE is easily one of the best anthology stories of all time, and I must say the same thing about the outstanding QUITTERS INC. from CAT'S EYE (I also love the Cujo and Christine cameos) and THE RAFT from CREEPSHOW 2 (which alone makes it better than the original IMO)! These stories are all just fucking perfect if you ask me! There are so many others I'm leaving out too, and these fantastic stories are the reason why it was sooo damn hard to pick my favorite anthology, but regardless of my pick, I love them all! That's just it, I made the above voting list out of nothing but favorites, so every film up there is a favorite of mine, and I'd kill to have every one of those gems on DVD! I included the other option in case your favorite isn't one of mine.

Other favs that didn't make the poll:

TALES FROM THE CRYPT (1972)- which I can't believe I forgot to include in the poll!
TALES FROM THE HOOD
TALES OF TERROR
ASYLUM

And while I like TWILIGHT ZONE: THE MOVIE, I dunno if I'd consider it true horror.

Also, CREEPSHOW is the only film I included that isn't a huge favorite, but I couldn't leave it out. I like the film, but find it overrated.

I love dem horror anthologies! Creepshow gets my vote... It's an affectionate tribute to the EC comics. It even looks like a comic, with the color scheme and the panels in certain scenes. It also benefits from a great cast and Savini's effects. The sequel was good fun. Chief Woodenhead was well wooden, but the other two segments rocked. Which reminds me, I need to get the DVD!
The Offspring would be my second favorite. Jeff Burr's best movie before he started making crummy sequels. This one's looong overdue for a DVD release.

I voted for Tales from the Darkside... I was tempted to vote "Other" for Burning Moon... Hell if Burning Moon counts, then consider that my vote.

BLACK SABBATH! CREEPSHOW was a relatively close runner up though.

I had to go with Trilogy Of Terror. Just for the little black doll. I used to lay in bed at night and keep a close eye on all my action figures.

I'm a sucker for the old British anthologies and I feel they do it best. "From Beyond The Grave" and "Asylum" are outstanding. Others that I've viewed and enjoyed immensely are "Vault Of Horror" and "Torture Garden", which includes a classic segment featuring Jack Palance as an Edgar Allan Poe memorabilia collector who gets infinitely more than he bargained for. As far as I know, "Vault" and "Torture" are OOP, but we can always look forward to a much deserved DVD release in hopefully the very near future.

No Body Bags?

Was this an oversight? Or not a fan?

So many good ones its hard to choose. Some of my favs are Tales Of Terror, Twice Told Tales, Creepshow, Black Sabbath and Tales From The Crypt. I guess i'll go with Twice Told Tales so it atleast has one vote.

I went with Triology of Terror. I bought Creepshow two weeks ago. I really disliked the film.
