This eyesucking scene was in the version that was shown many years ago on RTL+ (Luxembourg).
I have never seen it but my sister watched the whole thing and told about this scene which stood out. |

I'm not so sure about that, previous versions had the sucking on the face/eye area but then it cut. In fact for this Monsters HD broadcast they used the original negatives for the scene and edited it into the existing movie to be coherant, as the scene never made it past the MPAA. If it's been shown before though, I apologize.

The eyeball scene starts on the Dragon dvd (and all other versions I've seen), but instead of staying on it there is alternate footage of blood pouring down on the nurse's shoes. I compared them and the runtime is nearly identical, just different angles/footage.

So this is gone on the monsters dir cut HD version?
I also have the original monster HD version and the Japanese LD and USA LD on this one

Is that the only scene that was nixed? I can't recall if the upcoming DVD will be uncut or not, though if it's anything like the Re-Animator Millenium or Dolls DVDs it should be much better than my old US LD. GREAT movie. Combs is so over the top and deadpan in many scenes I can't help but laugh.

I remember hearing MGM wasn't hyped about it and MHD was gonna release it themselves a while back, but have heard nothing for months now, so maybe MGM without Sony will do the disc (when I first heard it was when Sony was destroying MGM's dvd department, now they let them free!). I doubt this was on any old tv broadcast since the footage was recently found after Gordon thought it was gone forever. I remember Gordon being extremely happy to go back and restore this flick when the footage was found, so I would imagine he'd be fully into contributing to a SE dvd. |

Hopefully MGM will get it released sometime soon. Thankfully, it won't be coming out from Sony!!
