Blood and Black Lace image comparison
Yeah I know, there's another older thread about this but which didn't include the new VCI release.
Here's the comparison between VCI's 1st edition, the German LTD Editition and VCI's 2nd edition: http://whiggles.landofwhimsy.com/wri...mage-lace.html The German version can still be found at Amazon.de's marketplace for about 50 Euro (=$65) which is very cheap (there's also one for $200 ).It's one of my most valuable DVDs! |

It's almost as if you need all three versions! I love the German version (and it'd be nice to see it again if I ever get another Region Free player). Oh, vell - we'll see a nice re-do someday.
Great site, by the way! |

Haha...if you really wanna see a bad transfer of Blood and Black Lace, check out the laserdisc! BUT, the cover is absolutely amazing...it's worth buying for the artwork alone.

Yeah, that Roan disc wasn't too pretty.
I wonder if a BluRay version would be good? |

I consider myself lucky to own one of the limited edition German Black Velvet editions. The Transfer is really beautiful, and it is currently the only way to REALLY experience the film as it was meant to be seen. Like Suspiria, if you have a shitty transfer of the film, you are not getting the full effect of all the amazing colors and camera work. And I only paid $13 for mine!

I only paid $50.Now that would seem like some sarcastic joke but it isn't,seeing them sell new and sealed at $260 nowadays.

$50 bucks is about my cutoff for single disc dvds... I would NEVER pay $300 bucks for a dvd unless it cleaned my fucking house. |

All this talk made me pull out the original VCI DVD and watch it. It's seriously no slouch - it looks amazing! I cannot view my German DVD until I get a proper player, but this looks great! I cannot understand how the recent VCI release ended up looking worse than this. This is the first time I listened to Tim Lucas's commentary and it's simply fabulous. |
