Unlike that other list that was made a few days ago, I have only seen four of the films on this list - Dead and Buried, Company of Wolves, Valentine and Prince of Darkness. I'm very happy to see them all on this list - especially Valentine. Now I just have to see those other films ... except for The Crazies. I don't know why, but I really don't want to see that film.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I've also seen Dagon. But I guess my forgetfulness regarding that film says something about what I think of it. Looking over the films that didn't make it, I'm kind of sad that New Nightmare and Mindhunters didn't get further. Both great films.

Nothing really new and the film has several plot holes, but if you can overlook that it's not too shabby for a slasher.

I haven't seen Dagon, Dead & Buried, Valentine, or Messiah of Evil and I wasn't impressed with The Company of Wolves or Prince of Darkness, but I love Halloween III, Let Sleeping Corpses Lie, Deathdream, The Crazies, and Hell Night, so it's a solid list. I still wish Don't Torture a Duckling had been voted in, though.

I haven't seen "Let Sleeping Corpses Lie", "Deathdream", and haven't even heard of "Messiah of Evil" until this thread.
Here's how I rank the others (which are all in my collection) 1. The Company of Wolves 2. Dagon 3. Dead & Buried 4. Halloween III: Season of the Witch 5. Hell Night 6. Prince of Darkness 7. The Crazies 8. Valentine |

Let's see. I've seen Halloween III, Let Sleeping Corpses Lie, Deathdream, Valentine, The Crazies, Hell Night and The Company Of Wolves. I don't remember Halloween III at all, and I never liked Valentine (but am planning on trying it again). The rest are great movies that deserve to be on the list. I suppose I should check out the others. Never even heard of Messiah Of Evil. Shame that Ravenous and New Nightmare didn't get in though. |

So glad Company of Wolves made it. Of the ones up there the following I don't agree with: Halloween III, Dead and Buried, Prince of Darkness.
The others look fair. |

So are Messiah of Evil, Dagon, Prince of Darkness, and The Company of Wolves worth hunting down? I've heard bad things about Dagon and I've never heard of Messiah of Evil. From the looks of its cover, it looks pretty cheesy.

Oh my! I had forgotten all about The Company of Wolves! Nice choice there!
Thanks to Hellbilly for hosting this, as I have discovered (and rediscovered) some great gems by reading these threads! My apologies to those films that I had thought of including, but ultimately didn't get around to, including... A Tale of Two Sisters Magic American Gothic Now, it's time to be brave and watch where the Best Remakes tournament takes us!

Neither Dagon or Valentine were deserving in my opinion, but the rest of the list was a great assortment of worthy flicks. Especially glad to see Halloween III: Season of the Witch inducted.

You just want to see Brain Damage listed
In fear of running out of steam or Interest I thought 11 are just fine. Some of Ash's best-of polls suffered from that because they went on too long ...

I really think the list is good (save my question mark on Messiah of Evil). I wish some others could have gotten in, but they didn't so the world will keep turning. This was a lot of fun so thanks for running it Billy. I also didn't know there was any Valentine love at all until this poll. I like the movie a lot, so that's good to know.
