First, The Wicker Man...Now, Liberace?

After his award nominated turn in last year's remake of The Wicker Man, read on for Nic Cage's latest project reported today on the IMDB:

Nicolas Cage has been confirmed as the favorite to play camp showman Liberace in a new movie musical. The actor has been linked to the role for years, but now screenwriters Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer have confirmed Cage is in talks to show off his musical skills as the late pianist. Speaking at the Sundance Film Festival, where the writers are promoting their new comedy Epic Movie, Seltzer says, "We met with Nicolas Cage last year and he really wanted to star in it; he wanted to direct himself in it too."

Cage should also consider doing a film about Scientology with Tom Cruise. It could only help boost his star value...

Here's the real question: just how bad will Nic Cage's hairpiece look in this movie?

I don't know what thread to post in, so I am going with this one. I just wanted to say that I hope this comes through. As mcchrist said in the other thread, it could for sure be the best movie ever. Count me in.

It took me awhile, but I think I have made my peace with this sad stage in Nick's career. I am thrilled to just sit back and laugh at him. The Wicker Man showed me the way. Bring on the guffaws.

i've been a huge, huge, supporter of anyone who agrees with me that nic cage sucks in almost every single movie. i'm pretty sure that the only movie he has ever shined in was raising arizona.

I would include Wild at Heart.

I'll add Face/Off and Matchstick Men. Matchstick Men is probably his best performance.

I agree with Face/Off. Have never seen Matchstick Men. Another Cage film I almost forgot to mention was Leaving Las Vegas. He won an Oscar for that performance and did in fact deserve it. How times have changed for the worse...

If the only good performance he ever gave was VALLEY GIRL, that would be enough for me. He was so great in that. It's one of my favorite performances ever.

He was also more recently good in The Weather Man, Adaptation, and Lord of War. Of course, not many folks ran out to see those saw those because his reputation is rightfully shot up by him doing every stinker in sight after winning his Oscar.

So what does everyone think about the Ghost Rider trailer? When Cage says in the trailer "...I'm Ghost Rider" I couldn't help but laugh out loud.
