I thought that 4, although I hate to say it because this is one of my favorite horror series, basically sucked. The scale was just SO small on that one that it was a huge disappointment. What was the cast, 4 or 5 people in total? If that is all that could be afforded for a 5th part, don't bother. If we could at least have something on the level of the third movie, then full steam ahead. Don't even think about a sequel. Could you imagine anybody except Angus in the Tall Man role? You know they wouldn't bring him in for a remake.

I don't know, Mr. Scrimm may be getting on in years, but he's still pretty fiesty!
![]() I do think that if 5 is going to happen it has to be in the next few years for obvious reasons, although Coscarelli did set it up in Oblivion so if need be Michael Baldwin could take over the Tall Man role. I'm not keen on this idea, but it could conceivably work.

I think Coscarelli announced this news at Seattle's Crypticon a couple of weeks ago. When I first heard about it it was via Crypticon touting an exclusive. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go to the show so I have no idea what was actually said and if it was during a Q & A or what. I personally would love to see the series wrapped up, but that update to the Dread Central news item doesn't make it sound like it will anytime soon.

I got to meet and spend 10+ minutes with Angus three years ago at a con and while he was sharp as a tack, cracking jokes and overall very engaging with everyone there, he wasn't moving around so well. And again, this was three years ago, so I'm not sure how well he'd hold up physically today on a movie set.
I hope they do it though and we get one more "BBooyyyyyy" out of the one and only "Tall Man." |

I'm much more interested in this than I am the much-asked-for evil dead 4. Phantasm has been building towards a definitive ending ever since they opted to make the first sequel. I rewatched them all a few months ago, and they're all quality films, although they all have their ups and downs. I'm also concerned about Scrimm's physical ability to play the role one last time. I'd rather it stop at number four rather than see a new actor take over that role.

I think the script has been done for a while. Hope it gets made. One thing I love about Phantasm is how the sequels start immediately where the last film ended. However, that might be tough this time around. 14 years of aging is a lot to disguise. That said, I'd love to see the scene from part 4 where Reggie goes through the forks and then a scene filmed now with him emerging on the other side of..... wherever it may be.

I'm stoked about this. I have been waiting for Phantasm 5 since Oblivion came out several years ago. I was the first Phantasm at the Drive-In when I was 9 years old, along with Beyond The Door. I know this is dating me.

I saw it at the drive in back in the early 80s paired up with The Fog. It was a life changing experience.

I think this is a cool idea I'd to see where Don goes with a fifth film.
