Two this year, we hope. SUSPIRIA may be next year.

I was working on MANOS audio today. Ben Solovey has turned in the HD video restoration and is working on some supplements for the disc. MANOS will begin authoring as soon as all the pieces are in place! Exciting stuff. The commentary Ben recorded with Jackey & Tom Neyman is a lot of fun!

Excellent news!

Now I'm kind of curious if there was any more behind-the-scenes drama that went down with Code Red?

Great news! But I donít think we should start sucking each otherís Dís yet (been disappointed before). At least wait until we get more details and closer to a release day with pre-orders up on-line.

Synapse doesn't announce titles unless everything's cleared and ready to go. This has been a film they've had for some time, so I'm sure at this point - it's not premature to get excited and await the release date announcements.

There is some hilarious butt hurt talk on Code Reds facebook group. A couple of days ago Bill had said he had the license to release it but wouldn't because people were calling him a bootlegger.

I just heard what Don May Jr. posted about Dawn of the Dead on an unofficial Code Red Facebook page late last year:
Quote:
There seems to be a rumor going around that Synapse is indeed doing a DAWN release next year. Just setting the record straight... While it IS true that we've communicated with Richard Rubinstein about the possibility, there is nothing confirmed at this time. Right now, we do not have the title, nor are we releasing a new version of DAWN on Blu for 2014. With TENEBRE, PHENOMENA, SUSPIRIA (maybe by Christmas 2014, maybe), COUNTESS DRACULA, CURTAINS and PROM NIGHT on our plate for 2014 (along with a slew of other stuff, including one title we just got, but haven't announced officially yet), even if we DID have DAWN, it wouldn't come out until 2015.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1398...2114627487188/

That pretty well squashes any hopes I had for Dawn since I felt it was some previous comments he made about deals he's inked that keep that alive in my mind. But he's since denied having DoTD so that's that.

That also means Dawn is still a free agent it would seem. Rather frustrating. I suspect the new 3D conversion is the lynch pin of any possible deals. It's doubtful Synapse would release a 3D conversion of any classic.

It is nice to see that Suspiria is penciled in for Christmas 2014. I was figuring Summer 2015 at the earliest, Fall 2015 more likely, with any delays past that. It looks like they're targeting release dates much sooner than that.

There is no way Suspiria is getting released this year. Synapse is notorious for delays. Those delays are justified and likely for the sake of quality, but regardless they are going to happen.

No dates yet, but I suspect that will be the next Blu-Ray they put out. They posted this on their Facebook page a couple weeks ago during the deep freeze:

They've already hinted as much:

The Happinet Japanese blu-ray set was a massive letdown. I am concerned that Rubenstein will oversell this new 3D version of the film. Did he spend the money to first restore the film (s) first? Due to the resurgence of zombies, will a major studio gamble on a 3D conversion of a 36 year old cult classic? The masses have spoken unfavorably against 3D. Time will tell.
